The success of a transformation comes down to one thing: value creation. So many companies don't see the results they were hoping for, and I believe this comes down to a need for shifting mentalities. We shouldn't be working to fit the transformation, the transformation should be working for us. That is to say that we should build and prepare teams to be un-biased in the face of changes. Communication and culture is everything. That is how long-term value is created. #Transformation #ValueCreation #Communication #CompanyCulture #ChangeManagement

The rate of change across key business factors like technology, talent, economic, and geopolitical has increased 183% in just the past four years. Agility isn't a choice; it's survival. Embracing adaptive strategies over predictive ones isn't about foreseeing the future—it's about shaping it. Leaders, it's time to foster a company culture where failure fuels innovation and views disruptions as opportunities. #BusinessTransformation #BusinessInnovation #CompanyCulture

In today’s fast-evolving digital landscape, any company embarking on a digital transformation journey must first ask: what purpose will this serve? Without a clear mission, technology can become just another costly endeavor. Instead, purpose-driven transformation is essential for lasting impact. The most successful organizations, what I call "Category 1" companies, start by aligning digital goals with strategic priorities, ensuring every digital initiative reinforces the broader mission. This foundation allows transformation efforts to stay focused on what truly adds value. Equally important is the team driving the change. Transformation isn’t about technology alone, it’s about the people who implement, manage, and sustain it. Building resilient, high-performing teams equipped with digital skills is critical. Leaders should invest in these teams, not just by hiring new talent but by fostering growth from within, creating an agile workforce. With the right support and a culture that embraces experimentation, teams can stay motivated and agile, tackling challenges with a "learn and grow" mindset. Finally, digital transformation should be guided by structured, measurable steps. Using tools like the “Focus Alignment Map” helps leaders and teams zero in on high-impact areas - whether it’s innovating new processes, improving efficiency, or driving quality. These frameworks prioritize the initiatives that matter most and help maintain momentum, even when obstacles arise. Transformation done right is purposeful, people-centered, and always aligned with the ultimate vision of the company. #DigitalTransformation #Purpose #Teams #Vision

As important as digital transformation can be, it should never come at the cost of your teams. It can be tempting to rush change to meet customer expectations or keep up with other businesses, but a rushed transformation can be just as harmful as no transformation at all. Without employee input and a strong foundational culture, hurried change results in frustration, failure to correctly implement new technology, breakdowns in communication, and an end result that doesn’t meet your needs or reflect your values. Remember: people, not tech, drive true transformation. But what does a “people-focused digital transformation” look like in practice? Before change ever begins, leaders must ensure that they have built cultures that celebrate and understand innovation. Preparing for inevitable failures, embracing uncertainty, developing resilience, and offering education and resources to teams along the way may feel unnecessary — but in reality, it forms the foundation for your future. #DigitalTransformation #Transformation #OrganizationalCulture #Innovation #Tech

Business leaders often pivot abruptly in response to market trends, like adapting to the pandemic or integrating AI. Yet, with many of these transformations failing, it prompts a reevaluation: is the traditional concept of transformation becoming outdated? Drawing inspiration from nature, businesses should focus on regenerative transformation. This approach involves integrating a company’s operations more seamlessly with its broader ecosystem, including people, places, and associated organizations. To develop an agile and regenerative organization, consider these tips: 1. Foster a Culture of Flexibility: Encourage open-mindedness and adaptability in your team. 2. Promote Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and encourage ongoing employee development. 3. Implement Responsive Decision-Making: Streamline processes to allow quick, informed decisions in response to changing environments. #futureofwork #agileleadership #businesstransformation

Can businesses transform without a human centred mindset? This was the discussion Murray Brown and I had. The answer is -> Not very successfully. It's a key reason why 70% of transformations fail. As Murray says, “𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴. He's witnessed the good, the bad and the ugly of change and transformation. He advises Executives & their Leadership teams on optimal cultures for change so that their businesses continue to grow, innovate and stay competitive. When change or transformation is executed with people first and technology/process second, the chances of success skyrocket. Do follow or reach out to Murray Brown. P.S - How would you define "human centred transformation?" ----------------------- "𝘈 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯’𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘦, 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥."

70% of enterprises fail to create any value from their transformation agendas. 62% cite culture as the defining hurdle to transformation. The reality is that ALL 'transformation' is a people transformation.
7 in 10 'Business' Transformations Fail. Because no one in the team really wants to transform. Part 20 in the Organisational Culture Series. ↳ 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: → Companies face challenges that demand agility and adaptability. → Digitisation, talent flight, globalisation, stakeholder social & culture expectations etc. → So they turn to 'transformation and change' to navigate - but transformation is hard. ↳ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: → Traditional values and principles do not accept change; they often resist it. → Two factors can make or break your transformation (it's not the 'risk register' sorry PMO). → Culture & Leadership: clarity and transparency in decision making leading to engagement. ↳ 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮: → A growth mindset is a powerful way to cultivate adaptability needed for transformation. → A growth mindset is the belief that talents and abilities can be developed → When individuals and organisations adopt a growth mindset, they focus on learning. Employees in growth-mindset organisations are: → 47% more likely to trust colleagues and management. → 34% more likely to feel a strong sense of ownership and commitment to the company. → 65% more likely to say that the company supports risk-taking. → 49% more likely to say that the company encourages innovation. ↳ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆: → Culture and leadership are the two key levers in increasing transformation success. → Leadership is key to acceptance of cultural change to fulfill a transformation agenda. → Culture must embody the values that guide employees and teams in transforming. How can your organisation promote a growth mindset to unlock the agility and adaptability needed to support your transformation agenda? By finding, defining, knowing and articulating the exact nature of your culture and its alignment to your operating model and its contribution to financial performance. #culture #leadership #peopleandculture #executivecoaching #leadershipdevelopment 🔔 Follow me ♻️ Repost if you find this post useful for your network
