🎄🎅 BREAKING NEWS: The Grinch is getting ready for his big night on Santa Duty! 🎅🎄 We caught the big green guy sneaking in a little me-time before helping Santa tackle the big Christmas Eve rush tonight. 🍹✨ Rumor has it he’s been resting up for the long night ahead and may have been swapping elf stories with our team over a Butterscotch Bourbon or two...or three. Speaking of, we’ve absolutely loved having the Grinch around the office these past few weeks! From helping us with holiday cheer (in his own mischievous way) to keeping everyone on their toes, it’s been a festive season to remember. That said, we’ll probably notice the difference in our Butterscotch Bourbon stash — the marketing bottles have been disappearing at record speed since he arrived. 😂 Guess even the Grinch can’t resist a little holiday spirit from Mr. Toms / List Distillery! Wishing you all a magical Christmas Eve filled with laughter, love, and maybe a little mischief of your own. Here's to the Grinch, Santa, and everyone making tonight merry and bright! 🎁🎄✨ #MerryChristmas #GrinchOnTheLoose #HolidayFun #velocityengineeringservices #GeotechnicalEngineering #ConstructionConsulting #EngineeringServices #EngineeringExperts #EngineeringTheFuture #SoilMechanics #NaplesFlorida #TeamVelocity #FoundationEngineering #SWFL #ReserveStudy #StructuralIntegrity #SIRS

If you've been following Harry Waters, you'll know that his daughter, Ali, is on a mission to collect 1 Million pieces of litter. You'll also know that her campaign has passed the half way point! Go Ali! Go pickers of the world! My current work and play destination brought me to an idyllic beach. Wondering what to do with myself on my work breaks, and spotting a few bits of plastic slowly disintegrating into fish and bird edible chunks, I thought it was time to give Ali a hand. Litter picking is an enjoyable brain break. It's an excuse to get up, stretch your legs and have a wander. It also makes you feel good about making the world a better place for humans and animals. I'm ashamed to say that my contribution to Ali's challenge is only this pick and another bagful back in Scotland... and a few forgotten crisp and sweetie wrappers on hikes. But it's never too late too start. And it feels great to get involved. I'm determined to do more. It's also brilliant as part of a class project. More info at: https://lnkd.in/e98_vseP or follow Harry Waters. Other ways to get involved: Spread the word, share your picks and this opportunity far and wide. Get others in on the action. Share your litter pick and break time experiences in the comments. #1MillionLitterPick #KidsAgainstPlastic

If you're at #Stonehenge today, you could make yourself very unpopular by mentioning that the #Druids would have gathered there to observe the midwinter sunset (not the midsummer sunrise) by looking in the opposite direction past the same stones. We know this because of various #neolithic buildings that only do interesting things for the winter #solstice, such as the spoon-shaped thing where the round bit is a tomb and the handle is a long tunnel which the sun only shines down at the midwinter sunset. There are no examples of buildings that do interesting things for the midsummer sunrise. In fact, cultures all over the world tend to have festivals for harvest, midwinter and spring, but rarely anything for #midsummer because its of no practical consequence.

🎆 Celebrate Safely This 4th of July! 🇺🇸 Landtamers Landscaping is wishing you a happy and safe Independence Day! As we enjoy the festivities, here are a few safety tips to keep your celebrations safe and fun: 1. Fireworks Safety: Always follow local regulations regarding fireworks. Use them in open, safe areas away from dry grass and landscaping. 2. Grill with Care: Keep grills away from flammable materials, including overhanging branches. Never leave a lit grill unattended. 3. Hydrate: Arizona summers are hot! Make sure to drink plenty of water and provide shade for guests and pets. 4. Pet Precautions: Fireworks can be stressful for pets. Keep them indoors and ensure they have a safe, quiet space. 5. Dispose Properly: Clean up all debris after your celebrations, especially fireworks and food waste, to protect our beautiful environment. Stay safe and have a fantastic 4th of July! 🎇 #LandtamersLandscaping #4thOfJuly #SafetyFirst #CelebrateResponsibly

Since 1972, the third Wednesday of July has been celebrated worldwide - primarily in North America and Australia - as #HotDogDay. In 2024, that day is July 17th. Enthusiasts celebrate the entire month of July as #HotDog Month. By the way, did you know that the history of hot dogs dates back to the chef of Julius Caesar? In the United States, where the hot dog holds national status, the #history begins in 1867, at Coney Island, New York, by a man named Charles Feltman. In 1893, hot dogs began to be sold to fans at baseball games. Looking back, what could be more #American than that? Today, Americans consume more than 20 billion #hotdogs each year, both at home and outside. Los Angeles is the leading in consuming. Today there are also standards for what can be called a hot dog and what cannot. For example, food that looks like a hot dog but does not contain meat cannot be called a hot dog. How connected is the hot dog to American life and culture? Here are 4 examples (besides #baseball that we already mentioned): 🤠 In 1936, U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt hosted King George IV of England and treated him to a meal of grilled hot dogs. It is said that the king asked for seconds. 🤠 The first words spoken on screen by #MickeyMouse were ‘hot dog’. 🤠 The hot dog is one of the only human foods that have been dined on the moon. It was tested and chosen by NASA as preferred #food for astronauts. 🤠 The rent of a hot dog stand in a prime New York location can reach up to $300,000 a year. Although the hot dog is not considered a particularly healthy and nutritious food, mothers know that it is an excellent control tool and a proven means of achieving industrial peace in the home and family environment. Today, as mentioned, mothers can be much more relaxed about the quality and nutritional values. Bon appetite and lots of joy 🌭🌭🌭

🔹 The Secret 🎉 and the Power of Brands: A Love Story 🔹 In a week, my wife and I will celebrate 17 years of marriage. People often ask me the secret to a long-lasting relationship, and I tell them to learn to say: “It wasn’t me!” 😊 The truth is, it’s the small behaviors that matter—surprisingly, many of those behaviors involve brands. One brand that’s special to us: Costa Coffee. Our connection to Costa is more than just our love for coffee; it’s a crucial part of our story. We travel a lot, but not always together, so whenever one of us finds a Costa Coffee, we send a selfie to each other. Why Costa? It’s the place we used to go to most often in the UK. It’s our “third place,” besides home and work, where we share good memories and continue to make more. The baristas are consistent globally, making it a home away from home. It’s a simple gesture, but it means so much to us. It’s not about the coffee; it’s about the connection and the memories. To my fellow Costa lovers: my drink is a flat white! ☕❤️ #Anniversary #LoveStory #BrandsAndBehaviors #CoffeeCulture #CostaCoffee #FlatWhite #TheThirdPlace #MarriageMilestones
