The positive development in Nordic cleantech investments continued in Q2-2024. When comparing Q2-2024 to the same period last year we saw a slight increase in total investment amounts. The 852 mEUR invested this quarter is comparable to both Q2 and Q1 of last year exceeding the levels seen in those first two quarters which amounted to 738 mEUR and 623 mEUR, respectively. The report is once again made by the Nordic CleanTech Coalition backed by Breakthrough Energy . ⚡I’m excited to announce that I’ve been selected to participate in the European Youth Energy Forum 2024, organized by the European Youth Energy Network - EYEN! 🚀 🌍 In this opportunity, I will collaborate with 60 young leaders from across Europe as we work on shaping the future of energy and sustainable cities. This week marks our first online session, kicking off several weeks of discussions on critical challenges cities face on the path to a more sustainable future. Key topics such as promoting affordable and clean energy technologies, boosting energy efficiency actions, developing sustainable supply chains, financing energy initiatives and tackling energy poverty will be discussed. All of this will culminate in a week-long event at Óbuda University in Budapest, Hungary in late October. 🤝 The EYEF is about empowering youth voices and creating space for collaboration with energy stakeholders to drive meaningful change in the European energy transition. 🌟 Yesterday, I participated in a session focusing on green transition technologies for European Energy Intensive Industries," co-organized by A.SPIRE and European Commission at the INDTech2024 Conference in Namur. I pitched the FLEX4FACT Project, which aim at enabling flexible manufacturing to enhance production process coordination with the energy market. This will reduce costs, create new revenue streams from selling flexibility to grid operators, and support a greener energy mix thanks to further integration of renewables, thus lowering scope 2 emissions for industries. In our panel discussion, we explored priorities for R&D such as hydrogen, biofuels and biocarbon, CCUS, advanced materials, vision and upcycling solutions. We also discussed adopting sustainable by design principles to combat climate change and build a circular economy, along with the importance of digital product passport technology to increase market transparency and promote green transition efforts. We took the chance to remind that beyond R&D efforts, we need an enabling infrastructure and regulatory frameworks that make sustainability the most economically attractive option.
