Greetings, everyone. I have successfully completed a course on strategic management, focusing on essential skills for professionals. Throughout this course, I gained insights into various topics, including external environmental analysis using the PESTEL framework, industrial and competitive analysis, and internal analysis from a resource-based perspective. Additionally, I explored corporate-level strategies such as diversification, integration, and strategic alliances, as well as international strategies and globalization. The course also covered crisis management and strategic responses, change management, strategic drift, and SWOT analysis, all of which have enhanced my understanding of business management strategies.

This concept came up in a recent half-day workshop I ran on managing change. This insight has sparked so many potential solutions that were otherwise completely illusive. In my experience, the way we define a challenge directly impacts the breadth and creativity of our solutions. A narrow frame can trap us in conventional thinking, while a broad and open frame invites innovative, out-of-the-box solutions. Next time you encounter a problem, conflict, or otherwise tense situation, take a moment to step back and reframe it. Ask yourself: • Are there underlying assumptions that can be challenged? • Can the problem be viewed from a different perspective? • what is the underlying interest or need connected to the problem?
