Next to what happens ON the stage at beyond tellerrand, it is equally important to me what happens NEXT TO the stage. What this is?
Well, I think break at an event like beyond tellerrand are essential. They are the periods, where you make new friends, have interesting conversations, meet people with possible new projects and jobs and much more. In the breaks you explore what Partners of the event created and brought for you to the event as my aim is always to brief them to not treat beyond tellerrand as "another trade fair". I describe and and explain who the attendees are and that they should not try to sell something to the the audience. And usually that works out pretty well and we have great partners making an effort to create a colourful space for the breaks.
Next to partners I also always invite interesting creators with their products (e. g. ROTERFADEN TASCHENBEGLEITER or Buchstabenmuseum or Hacking Gutenberg p98a.berlin – who sadly can't come this time), people with exciting projects (e. g. MUSEUM EXPRESS) or artist friends (like Rob Draper for example) to join.
I want an event to be an overall experience and not only talks. (btw. that is also the approach with our Smashing Conferences!). I want to create an island of friendliness and happiness in these times, where people can join for two days to leave inspired, with new impressions and excited to get things started or done.
Have questions? Let me know!
