Are you being intentional about attracting and retaining GenZ talent? 🤔 I had this great question 👇 about GenZ during our live session last week. Prioritizing engagement is of particular importance for GenZ. They are a different (and incredible) generation. A few highlights of what the research tells us is unique about GenZ (and substantiated through GenZ focus groups I have done): ✅ GenZ expects and advocates for authentic belonging. ✅ Is it vital for GenZ to feel an affinity to companies they work for (and buy from). ✅ GenZ is an anxious generation (coming of age during COVID-19, the political and divisive environment throughout the world, the cost of college, the pressure to make money quickly, etc.). ✅ GenZ expects transparency - to fully understand what's going on behind the scenes with decision makers (and direct supervisors). That is how to build trust. Engagement touches on all of these, and more. Being intentional about ensuring the 3 Drivers of Engagement - psychological meaningfulness, psychological safety, and psychological availability - is what will make your organization a place GenZ'ers want to work and stay at.

When #hiring, I always consider whether I'd enjoy grabbing a 🍻 with the person I'm interviewing. Workdays are typically hectic 🤯 filled with tasks and meetings aimed at driving business impact. However, amidst the hustle, for me, the best moments are spent with my team of 🦄. One of the most significant challenges we face as Gen Z professionals is the hesitation from older generations to give us a chance due to our perceived lack of experience. However, this reluctance is a missed opportunity. From my journey from Marketing Assistant to Coordinator, I’ve learned that with the right guidance and trust, we can exceed expectations and deliver exceptional results.
