One of the tenets of Social Emotional Learning is cognitive regulation. We want our students to be able to think about their learning. This means that students need help: -Setting and achieving academic and social goals -Identifying and solving problems -Making healthy decisions -Seeking help -and Staying organized You can find this resource and others on my teachers pay teachers page. Many teachers struggle to meet the needs of unregulated students. Often teachers design behavior plans with the best of intentions, but these plans can make behaviors worse if they aren’t focused on why the student is demonstrating anti-social behaviors. Children can be puzzles to solve, and we can help them when we search for the “why” of their actions, and meet those human needs with the appropriate interventions. Here is today’s video. https://lnkd.in/dEehhTkj

Meet our sponsors! "We know that having specialist intervention makes a huge difference for children and young people and adults, and having someone who's a specialist teacher, and possibly a specialist assessor, is a huge asset to a school. People who have dyslexia think differently, process information differently - to be able to make progress they need to be taught in different ways, and that's really where the course comes in. If somebody is a teacher and wants to find out how to become a specialist teacher these are the kind of things that our courses offer." Jane Opie, Director, Dyslexia Herts. Dyslexia Herts was set up in 2011 by Jane Opie to provide high quality training for teachers and courses for parents and employers, as well as support and assessment services to parents, children, young people, schools/ colleges, and adults in education or at work. Dyslexia Herts offer a range of dyslexia services in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas. Their mission is to ensure individuals with dyslexia are empowered and able to achieve their goals in education or the workplace. Play is the primary medium of learning for children. Empower them with the freedom to explore and make mistakes—it's their fundamental right. Exercising power over their play and learning limits their social, emotional, and cognitive growth. The impact may not be immediate, but it will manifest in their evolving interactions, relationships, and academic courage as they grow. #playbasedlearning #socialemotionallearning #earlylearning #earlychildhooddevelopment
