REMINDER: The Knowledge Co-Operative’s Summer 2024 #PSAT, #SATPreparation and #ACTPrep Courses Begin Soon Standardized test preparation is what we do … and we do it better than anybody else. We have been doing this for a long time now, and we have helped lots and lots of kids get into some really great schools: MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Cal Tech, blah, blah, blah. We have also helped lots and lots of high school underachievers find hidden gems that have matched their academic needs and helped them to succeed in college and beyond; schools like Mercer, American, Penn State, Alabama and Texas Christian. Mostly though, we help students find schools that offer great programs in the students’ chosen fields as well as generous merit aid packages (need based aid is, sadly, a relic of the past – a victim of idiotic obsession with college rankings). Our summer courses are gearing up for 2024. The courses are comprehensive and effective. In fact, we have found that those students who begin test preparation in the summer substantially outperform those who wait until fall or, for Juniors, delay preparation until next spring. In our courses, students will be taught the skills and techniques necessary to master all three components of the SAT and all four components of the ACT. Moreover, they will be taught proven and effective techniques – NOT TRICKS, but rather specific and replicable methodologies that are tailored to address the particular skills that the PSAT, SAT and ACT attempt to test. If your child is willing to do the assigned course work, we know that he or she will do well … very, very well. In fact, we know that diligent application of our techniques will make the test very manageable. Here is what we do: The Mathematics Reasoning component of the course will stress - Working with triangles and circles Rates and averages Ratios and Proportions Understanding word problems Factoring Functions Parabolic and linear expressions Imaginary numbers Logarithms Basic Trigonometry The GRAMMAR component will stress - Misplaced modifiers Noun-verb agreement in sentences using prepositional phrases False comparisons Advanced punctuation usage Active voice vs. passive voice If you have any questions, feel free to call me us at 7863337909 or email Sean at seancharlesplynch@gmail.com #TestPrep #testpreparation #collegebound #CollegePrep #collegepreparation #collegeadvice #collegeadmissions #collegeadvising #satprep

Yup, I know this is going to sound ironic but… ‘I struggle with motivation’ is a statement I hear from teens probably more than any other. So how is a quote that says ‘I will beats IQ’ relevant if most teens are telling you there isn’t much ‘will’ knocking about? It’s relevant because it’s true. The first step to getting better exam results starts with the motivation to try. We need to re-engage your son or daughter in their education. Your teen needs to be able to answer these questions (genuinely and for themselves!). Why should I bother? Why should I pay attention in class? Why should I try when exams are months, if not years away? I do this by asking students what their goals are by subject and by grade - not their parent’s or teacher’s goal but what do they want to achieve? Where do they want to go after GCSEs or A-levels? We try and project them into the future – just a little bit. And after 5 years of helping teens improve their grades, I can honestly say that there is not one student I have ever worked with, who doesn’t want to improve their results. Everyone wants to get better. They might not feel motivated in that moment, they might not feel confident that they can do it and they might not have a plan for how to do it, but all of these things can be learned. If you’d like to learn more about how to support your teen do this, I’d love you to join me on my free live workshop on Wednesday 16 October where I will share my exact system for how I help GCSE & A-Level students to improve their results by 1-3 grades across all subjects without stress, nagging or tutoring. Comment the word WORKSHOP below and I’ll send you the link to sign up (it’s free).

🙏 Student Testimonial: Sacred Heart Preparatory, Class of 2015 - UCLA, Class of 2019 “I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I? I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Additionally, the group testing environment was insanely helpful in practicing what to expect during test day. Mr. Test Prep’s unpredictable outbursts of songs and people’s sneezing and coughing inevitably allowed me to block out the irrelevant and focus on the test. I also still do his meditations today before a big event or test! They have assisted me greatly in becoming more centered, and have me diving into any task headfirst with steady hands and tranquility. Not only did Mr. Test Prep increase my confidence in test taking, but he also helped boost my overall determination in conquering whatever may stand in my way – including math and science! The results of Mr. Test Prep’s tutoring are not merely numbers. If you are seeking someone who is more than a tutor – someone who is a role model, friend, and a hilarious mentor, then Mr. Test Prep is for you!” Thank you! 🙏 Veronica Louise Mendoza, MBA For more Mr. Test Prep testimonials visit https://lnkd.in/g5Hk8e8D #collegeprep #satprep #actprep #satpreparation #mrtestprep #studytips #parentsofteens #parents
