Men , Gentleman and Supermen. Kolkata Hospital Incident has again brought up the issue of " Touchy- Creepy " encounters that Women face in Public Spaces. Does this problem have a Solution? Good Upbringing, Gender Sensitization, Laws all have a role to play but they are not Sufficient. In almost every middle class home , girls get beaten up by their own brothers during childhood regardless of the level of education . +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Our Reproductive System is a very uncontrollable and responds within seconds to Visual and Physical Stimulus. The Speed at which it goes OUT of CONTROL is much much fast in males than in Females. On receiving the Stimulus the body conspires to Disable the विवेक and breaks the barrier of संयम. The blood starts concentrating in a specific areas and organs, waiting for an OUTBURST. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Taking cognizance of this SUPER FAST REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM, in ancient India in the गुरुकुलs , techniques of ब्रह्मचर्य were taught to Males so that " TOUCHY-CREEPY" behaviours could be regulated. In CBSE System no such things are covered and mere संस्कार are not enough as the Reproductive Impulses are very very strong. You can't Police crores of Unregulated Males in our country given the sheer Size . Hence the onus of Self Protection will always fall disproportionately on Females, no matter how much nonsensical it may sound. Am I next? My heart aches and my eyes sob as I write this. Yes, I’m talking about the most horrifying and monstrous incident that happened on August 9 in Kolkata, which has not only triggered the state but has brought shame to the whole nation. A 31 Year-old on-duty postgraduate trainee doctor who was specializing in chest medicine is ganged raped and brutally killed in the R G Kar Medical College Hospital, Kolkata. The initial post-mortem reports revealed that there were multiple injuries she suffered including her face and neck, and there signs of bleeding from her mouth, eyes, private parts, and seminal fluid from multiple persons in the body was found. I can’t even imagine what horror and unbearable pain she has suffered. And what’s more interesting about the fact is that most medical colleges' areas of R G Kar don’t have CCTV cameras. Why? This is just a clear sign of how irresponsible and negligent the authority is. So who are we to blame? If not the authority and those in power? What’s more scary you know, is those monstrous who did this are still walking freely and those in power (government) are least bothered and we understand how it works. The people in power did everything to protect those criminals. 12 years of the Nirbhaya case and yet nothing has changed. I still don’t know whether there is any solution to this problem or whether we will ever be able to experience real freedom. People will talk about it today, go out for a candle march resharing of posts and after a few days everything will be the same again. Autopsy report now confirm Rape & Murder. Few Pointers. - The Medical college is almost in the heart of the city. - With out autopsy report prima facie investigation shared is SUCIDE. - Are doctors (Female) really safe at their own work place. - What about female doctors being forced to be appointed at remote locations without basic amenities towards safety. - What NMC is doing apart from making the digitization of ATTENDANCE process of doctors. Final query is WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?

Given the recent happenings in Kolkata, a lot of parents have come to me with this concern- They are anxious about sending their children outside, even to schools or colleges. While I completely understand where they’re coming from, it's important that we do not succumb to this fear to the point that we stop doing our everyday activities. Fear and worry are not how we should start the developmental phase of children. For this, here are some strategies I'd recommend: 1. Both genders should be aware of the safety measures available to them. If they’re travelling alone, they should always have an exit plan. Role-playing can help with this. They should be taught self-defence techniques, and fun activities can be used to work on their problem-solving skills. 2. On Sundays, there should be open and honest conversation among all the family members. This will help build trust and rapport so children are not afraid to tell you anything. 3. All stakeholders of the children- tuition teachers, friends, schools, and colleges should be very sensitive towards these topics and work together to ensure the child’s safety.
