PARENTS OF COLLEGE-BOUND STUDENTS: I offer a two-hour mother/daughter seminar for H.S. senior girls and their moms covering a myriad of potential safety concerns -- including protests/activism on campus, whether your daughter encounters such events or is potentially drawn into them. Where are the boundaries of concern? While I 'can' do the same as a father/son seminar with this and associated issues covered, the interest remains with the mother/daughter event -- but I 'can' do the same for the guys. This can be done in private home settings or larger settings. For #nonprofits, I also offer this as a fundraising event with 50/50 split for ticket sales. I've also had #insurancecompanies #insurancebrokers sponsor/host this for such personal lines clients as a value-add, if interested. The key is training *BEFORE* they encounter these and other potentially volatile situations while away. More info in the link below. I know someone who can help. #defensebydesign #campussafety #collegesafety #campussecurity #campuslife

Learn about Online Memorials, a trend that’s here to stay. Learn about the change that COVID created. When someone passes away and we want to memorialize that person. However, many folks have moved away. Kids, grandkids, old friends and colleagues. The average funeral has travel expenses, the funeral may only be a few days away. Some folks can't make that trip because of age, expenses or both! Learn about--- The Memorial Website, the Head Stone of the Future. The donation portal, a guest book, registration Learn about sharing stories, from an old friend from High School, or College, someone they haven’t seen in years. Learn how you can preserve a Service for years!! An Online Memorial---A Life Long Memory!! Willowise was founded by Brock and Esther Sheets. Brock’s dad, David, passed away unexpectedly due to Covid in early 2021. As the Sheets family was processing through this sudden loss, we decided a virtual memorial service was going to be the most effective way to honor David’s life and legacy. Having lived & served as a pastor in 11 different churches across 5 states, David’s “community” was spread out across the entire US. Travel to a single memorial service location simply wasn’t possible for all who loved David and called him friend. Brock has spent 9+ years marketing, guiding the website design, producing webinars, hosting virtual meetings, and delivering virtual education for a professional defense association in Washington, DC. Esther has a gift of empathy and caring that is unmatched. She is able to uniquely connect with families & care for them in their grief. This combined experience was perfectly suited to create a beautiful tribute website and a moving memorial service for David with over 500 people in attendance. Since then, Willowise has gone on to help thousands of satisfied people in their own seasons of loss. We combine user-friendly technology platforms, professional project management, and unmatched empathy to create a powerful and moving memorial experience for you and your loved-ones. Hey PDX HSP Community, During this month of the colonial holiday of Thanksgiving, we are thinking about how the work of PDX HSP interrelates with calls for repair from the Indigenous Land Back movement. So for our next community event we are grateful to be hosting Jillene Joseph, enrolled member of the Gros Ventre or Aaniiih people, and board member of the Future Generations Collaborative (FGC). We are very excited that Jillene will be hosting us at and sharing about Barbie’s Village, a land back transfer of the former Laurelhurst Presbyterian Church building and the property it sits on. FGC uses the building as a community hub and is developing a tiny home village on the property for houseless Native parents with small children. Where: Barbie’s Village, 935 NE 33rd Ave When: Tuesday, Nov. 26, 7:00–8:30 pm If you plan to attend, please click the link in our bio to RSVP . Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring outside food. This will be a masks optional event. We ask that you stay home if you are experiencing any abnormal symptoms. For more info about PDX HSP, check out our website in the link in our bio. #pdxhousingsolidarityproject #pdx #portland #oregon #black #indigenous #community #allies #reparations #homebuying #firsttimehomebuyer #housing #pdxhsp #events #resources #blackcommunity #indigenouscommunity #nativeamerican #africanamerican #families
