As an entertainment professional for years I was hosting gigs on the 31st night. I was young and being at a 5 star as a host, with exotic dancers, bands, top notch hospitality and service was a dream, especially when I came from a city like Lucknow, where there was only New Year’s Eve shows on television with peanuts and Chiki under family shared razai. Years passed, and personally, I stopped doing events on New Year’s many years ago. But as we wind down the year, my heart goes out to professionals in the field. While most of us slow down, take time off, and plan getaways, there are industries that gear up to work at a feverish pace. Take hospitality, events, and entertainment, for example. The Christmas and New Year season is their peak time—when the pressure is at its maximum, and everyone is running on overdrive to ensure your celebrations go off without a hitch. Behind every perfectly plated meal, every dazzling event, and every seamless experience is a team that’s probably missing their own holiday to make yours special. Traffic police and government services ramp up too, managing crowds and ensuring safety as people travel and celebrate. The sheer volume of movement during this season requires dedication that we often don’t notice unless something goes wrong. So, this is just a small note to say: let’s show kindness to those working tirelessly during the year-end rush. Whether it’s a hotel staff member, a DJ at your party, the waiter serving you, or the officer managing chaotic streets—they deserve our patience, respect, and gratitude. Here’s to ending the year on a note of appreciation for those who make our festivities possible. #BeKind #Gratitude #YearEndReflections

Free flight. Free food. And I didn’t even step into a lounge. Here’s how… ✈️ Yesterday, fresh off our Monsoon Release, I booked a spontaneous flight from Bangalore to Goa. ₹7.1K for a last-minute ticket... but thanks to Scapia coins, the flight was completely free. Once at the airport, I had time to kill. Skipped the lounge (lounge food feels like wedding leftovers imo). Instead, I hit up La Alta Vita for a nice ham sandwich and a cold Kingfisher—again, completely covered by our airport privileges. Now, here’s where it gets interesting: that airport privileges product? It’s the star of our Monsoon Release this year. We’ve just rolled out this India-first feature across 72 airports. That means, no more waiting in lounge lines or settling for bland snacks. Go get that coffee you crave, you connoisseur. Wanna pick up chocolates? Done. Need a last-minute souvenir? Sure, why not. Feel like grabbing a new book for the flight? Easy. And the best part? Everything you buy at the airport gets refunded as Scapia coins, making the entire airport YOUR lounge. That's what I love about Scapia. It's great to be not just an employee but also a customer. To build products that I relate to. Built by the amazing team at Scapia - Aniruddh Agrawal Rithwik Nag Parneet Kaur Priyansha Mishra Sumedh Zope Charu Kandpal Himanshu Garg Sourabh Gupta

*** "At Zero Cost, adding a touch of Sustainability to Weddings" - a piece of news from Taliparamba in Kannur is a novel idea on its own ..... a great step towards sustainability in a time where weddings are becoming more and more luxurious and unsustainable starting right from multi-page and scented wedding cards, elaborate pre-wedding shoots at select destinations, setting up floral and other decorations and illuminations at the venue, spending a fortune on the bride, groom, family members dresses, and then immense wastage of food and water during the wedding banquet and reception. *** Nowadays a social media post is making the rounds that clearly brings out the real picture of weddings in our Indian culture by saying "You save for 30 years of your life to conduct the wedding in your family and feed 800-1000 people who are least bothered about your life ahead". That is so true. *** In wedding banquets and receptions, our people tend to behave as if they have not seen food for many days. And since they do not have to pay from their pockets, they take food in plenty onto their plates and then waste a major portion. Bottled water is the other bane. *** Recently there was a piece of news from Kerala, where a Church has decided to "Go Green" or "add a touch of sustainability" by avoiding coffins in burials. *** We need more of such initiatives. Our Planet is facing a crisis and we humans are the sole reason. Hence it is our responsibility to solve it. *** The solution is right in front of us - assessing and understanding our "Ecological Footprint" as an individual, family, society, state, or country and taking steps towards reducing your Carbon Footprint (home energy use & transportation), Food Footprint, Housing Footprint and Goods & Services Footprint and thereby ensure sustainability of People and the Planet including other lifeforms. *** Together we can. Together we should. #sustainableliving #sustainability #sustainable #sustainabledevelopment #sustainableweddings #sustainablewedding #kerala #ecologicalfootprint

Shaadi season is here! Weddings in India are not just events; they’re emotions served with a generous helping of khaana, gaana, bajana. And this season? It’s not just about “shaadi mubarak”; it’s about samosa ready, chai garam, aur less customers! shocked right? 💍 Did you know? • India will witness around 48 lakh weddings this season. That’s an average of 1.6 lakh weddings per day! • A massive ₹6 lakh crore in revenue is expected to flow through the industry. Wondering where your share is? Let me tell you. For us in the food business, wedding season is a double-edged sword. On one side, everyone’s busy attending weddings (shaadi season hai bhai), which means fewer regular footfalls. On the other? It’s the perfect chance to connect with a new audience who are stepping out to grab a quick bite between functions. So how do we survive and thrive in this season? 1️⃣ Connect, Don’t Just Serve: We prioritized personalized communication with our customers. Whether it’s a pre-wedding gang planning their sangeet or a post-wedding party needing a quick pick-me-up (hello pizza sandwiches), we made them feel at home. 2️⃣ Innovation on the Menu: Wedding season is the ideal time to introduce something new. Spoiler Alert: Namo Sandwich is about to unveil something exciting soon. Stay tuned for the big reveal! 3️⃣ Perfect Paperwork: Billing may not seem glamorous, but keeping it clean and clear is crucial. Shaadi ke bill aur khane ke bill dono sahi hone chahiye! Why it’s worth it? This isn’t just a season to make revenue; it’s the time to build relationships. The customers we connect with today become the regulars who bring their families tomorrow. For all the restaurant owners out there – this wedding season, let’s remember: It’s not just about making sales; it’s about making memories. Aur haan, wedding ho ya weekend, Namo "णमो" Sandwich is here to make every bite count! Question for the readers: How do you tackle the wedding season in your industry?
