Philip Strandwitz brilliantly highlights the profound role of the microbiome in shaping human health, resonating with my belief in its transformative potential. The analogy of the microbiome as a garden vividly illustrates its fragility and interconnectivity, particularly through the gut-brain axis and its implications for mental health. The staggering evidence linking gut health to Brain health and the innovative approach of harnessing human-derived microbes for tailored treatments is inspiring. The vision of leveraging the microbiome to revolutionize health can lead to groundbreaking advancements. This aligns with my mission to prioritize microbial health as a key to addressing underlying causes rather than merely managing symptoms, "save the Invisibles, our Microbiome". It serves as a powerful call to action, emphasizing the immense opportunities we have to reshape healthcare through innovation and understanding. https://lnkd.in/gEvzbk7x One Mind Philip Strandwitz Microvioma IBioM - Foundation of Indian Biotech MSME Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) CYMBIOTICS BIOPHARMA PRIVATE LIMITED IT BT Department, Karnataka Government of Karnataka #microbiome #brainhealth #mentalhealth #alzhiemers #depression #gutbrainaxis #brainmicrobiome #dementia #maneeshpaul #cognitivehealth #neurologicalhealth

Ever wondered how therapy actually helps? According to Candace Pert, PhD, in her book Molecules of Emotion, unresolved emotional pain can manifest physically, leading to various health issues. Pert's research shows that peptides, such as endorphins, play a crucial role in our emotional and physical health. Key Insight: Therapy helps uncover and address these deep-seated emotions, preventing them from causing more serious health problems. It's not just about managing symptoms; it's about resolving the root causes. Think of therapy as the process of working on the underlying issues, rather than just silencing the 'fire alarm.' Why It Matters: Addressing emotional pain through therapy can lead to lasting improvements in your well-being and overall health. It’s about breaking the cycle of negativity and paving the way for a healthier, more balanced life. If you're struggling with unresolved emotions or chronic stress, consider how therapy might offer more than just temporary relief. It can be a crucial step toward real, lasting change. 🌼Case Example: Lisa's Journey to Wellness Through Therapy🌼 Lisa, a 35-year-old marketing manager, had always been a high achiever, but she struggled with frequent migraines, chronic fatigue, and digestive issues. Despite numerous medical consultations and treatments, her symptoms persisted, leaving her frustrated and concerned. During a routine check-up, Lisa's doctor suggested she consider therapy. Initially skeptical, Lisa decided to explore this option. In therapy, she began to uncover deep-seated emotional pain related to unresolved childhood trauma and ongoing work stress. As Lisa worked through her emotions with her therapist, she discovered how her chronic stress and unaddressed pain were contributing to her physical ailments. The therapy sessions helped her develop coping strategies and address the root causes of her distress, rather than just masking the symptoms. Over time, Lisa noticed significant improvements. Her migraines became less frequent, her energy levels increased, and her digestive issues improved. By confronting and processing her emotional pain, Lisa not only found relief from her physical symptoms but also gained a deeper understanding of herself. #MentalHealth #Therapy #EmotionalWellbeing #CandacePert #Health #therapymatters #psychotherapyhelps #psychotherapybenefits #psychotherapymatters #Indianpsychologist #mentalhealthmatters #emotionalwellbeing

October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month, a perfect time to raise awareness of the deep connection between mental health and physical well-being. In functional medicine, we understand that mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, and mood disorders often stem from underlying imbalances within the body. At Mosaic Diagnostics, we provide practitioners with the tools to uncover these root causes through comprehensive testing. For example: 🧬 The Organic Acids Test (OAT) evaluates metabolic and nutritional imbalances, such as neurotransmitter dysregulation and oxidative stress, which are closely linked to mental health. 🦠 The MycoTOX Profile can detect mycotoxin exposure from mold, which can trigger neuroinflammation and cognitive dysfunction. 🧪 Our TOXDetect Profile identifies toxic chemical exposures that may contribute to neurological issues and mood disturbances. 🧲 The Heavy Metals Test assesses toxic metal burden, which can interfere with brain function and contribute to mental health disorders. By exploring the root causes of mental health challenges through functional testing, practitioners can develop more targeted, personalized treatment plans for their patients. This Mental Health Screening Month, let’s work together to address the physical factors that influence mental health and provide holistic care to our patients. 🧠💡 Visit MosaicDx.com to learn more! #MentalHealthAwareness #FunctionalMedicine #RootCause #MosaicDiagnostics #MentalHealthMatters #DepressionScreening #ToxinExposure #PatientCare

5 out of 10 doctors experience the symptoms of burnout. And many struggle with insomnia, depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder. In my role as Director of Neurology at Fortis Hospital, maintaining a healthy balance is often a challenge. While I deeply value my profession, I recognize the importance of self-care as a human being. To unwind myself, here are a few things that I do: ✅Go on walks: Going for a walk allows me to reconnect with nature and find calm amidst the demands of my work. ✅Getting enough sleep Getting a full 8 hours of sleep each night is non-negotiable, as it directly impacts my productivity and performance. ✅Eating healthy I'm committed to practicing what I preach when it comes to nutrition, prioritising protein-rich meals and plenty of green vegetables while abstaining from alcohol. ✅Quality time Quality time with my family serves as a source of rejuvenation after long days, reminding me of the importance of personal connections beyond the hospital walls. As healthcare providers, our ability to care for others hinges on our own well-being. It's crucial for doctors to prioritize their health through simple yet impactful measures. How do you unwind yourself on hectic days? #neurologist #healthcare #mentalhealth
