We feel incredibly lucky to have reached this milestone, working alongside some truly wonderful people — clients, partners, suppliers and our amazing team. Each person has played a role in shaping City CV into the business it is today and we couldn’t be more grateful. And, of course, the team at Hanover, who we joined four years ago.
People are at the heart of our business. The relationships we’ve built, the careers we’ve transformed and the inspiring journeys we’ve been part of are what truly define these 15 years.

#ICYMI Charlie Albor, VP Property Operations, was honored as The Dermot Company’s Most Valuable Professional of Q2 2024. Congratulations, Charlie!
Charlie Albor joined Dermot in 2016 as General Manager of 250 East Houston. During his tenure, he has successfully managed four buildings (250 E Houston, The Landon, 21 West End and The Landing) in Dermot’s portfolio as General Manager. He now oversees operations for seven properties as Vice President, Property Operations. A leader both in operations and company culture, Charlie heads the culture team, fostering a positive work experience for all.
Thank you, Charlie, for your incredible leadership, innovative ideas, and contagiously positive attitude.
We asked Charlie what his favorite thing about being part of Team Dermot is. Here’s what he had to say:
My favorite thing about being part of Team Dermot? Easy: it’s the people. I’m talking about everyone from our CEO in the corner office of HQ to the folks on site who keep our buildings running like a dream and looking sharp. Dermot has a serious talent for hiring awesome people. It’s like they’ve got some secret formula for finding team members who not only know their stuff but also bring a ton of heart to the job. The way we support each other every day? That’s not just rare—it’s practically unicorn-level teamwork. You don’t find that just anywhere and I’m beyond grateful to be a part of it.

Oath Law grew by 23% last quarter, in terms of market expansion.
Reflecting on that growth, and how we can execute well going into Q4, here are 3 of my takeaways from the cycle:
1️⃣ Project Timing comes First, then Viability:
We have a good number of exciting projects on the horizon and efficiency is as important as ever. One project in particular I took on last quarter and went headlong into making progress, soon realizing the opportunity was not only viable, but much bigger than we originally thought. I was so focused on achieving the associated quarterly goal, that I overlooked (possibly ignored) the fact that we weren’t ready and needed additional time to prepare. After quite a bit of effort, I finally set it aside 70 days into the quarter to focus on higher impact work. Feeling like I had to justify the pivot, I brought a well-thought-out break down to our off-site quarterly review meeting. The team, immediately seeing what took me over 2 mos to accept, acknowledged the move and agreed that punting to Q1 was the best course of action. Lesson learned - Pivot fast and pivot early.
2️⃣ {yet another} Reminder to Curb Assumptions:
Heading into an Estate Planing conference, I had what ultimately boils down to a limiting belief. I expected a tough time breaking through the noise and getting attention for our sales enablement software. However, the overwhelmingly positive response we received from conference goers (many now users) pushed us to move up our product launch timeline. Lesson learned (for the 100th time in my career) - don’t write my own narrative and let the clients speak for themselves.
3️⃣ A High Performing Team Doesn’t come with an Instruction Manual:
Knowing you have exceptional colleagues to rely on is one thing, but understanding how and when to call on them for help and effectively utilize their skill sets, is another. I was reminded recently of a blind spot of mine that, in the past, has led to tunnel vision and a loss of momentum. Lesson learned - Though I’ve gotten pretty good at the “how” over the years, I still need work on the “when.”

A big congrats to the operations, recruiting and training teams. They are superstars.
A vulnerable and exciting update for my network:
A little over a year ago, when I joined The Admin Effect as their Chief Marketing Officer, I stepped out of my comfort zone and really put my imposter syndrome to the test. I could confidently tell an office how many seminars they would need to hold to meet their growth goals for the year. I could identify gaps in branding and deliverables for a company, create and execute a social media calendar, and organize a client events schedule.
However, I had no idea what Firelight was. I didn't know what a replacement application entailed. I didn't fully grasp the difference between a carrier and a custodian. The only thing I knew about a Roth IRA was simply that I had one. And don't even ask me to explain the difference between qualified and non-qualified funds. The list goes on...
I share this because, in a matter of months, with the guidance and support of our incredible team, I learned what Firelight was (spoiler: it's not the song by Owl City). I learned the significance of IRA types in applications, and the difference between qualified and non-qualified funds. This knowledge allowed me to develop effective case management training, forecast how many applications our team can complete in a day, and streamline money movement timeframes and strategies.
Let my experience during the past year be a testament to the true power of The Admin Effect. Our service offering, and ESPECIALLY our training program, was created with the framework that I followed to get to this point, and that our team has followed as well.
A special shoutout to our Leadership Team for pushing me toward this opportunity and giving me the grace and confidence to take on this new role. I love what I do, and I feel lucky to be able to do it every day. Cheers to an exciting year ahead! 🥂
We have exciting news!!
We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Brooke Peters to the permanent position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at The Admin Effect!
Brooke has been an integral part of our organization, originally serving as our Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Her exceptional leadership, dedication, and deep understanding of our business operations shone brightly last quarter when she stepped up as interim COO. During this period, Brooke mastered the entire NB process, implemented critical measurables, and began developing proprietary tools to showcase our data, driving our company forward.
In her new role as COO, Brooke will continue to oversee our marketing efforts while also taking charge of our daily operations, ensuring that our processes are streamlined, efficient, and perfectly aligned with our strategic goals. Her vision and expertise have set a strong foundation for our future success.
Join us in congratulating Brooke on this well-deserved promotion! We are incredibly proud and excited for what the future holds. 🌟👏
