One of the things most fun in brokerage is helping business owners find creative ways around issues. In most cases, there is a real estate angle. But if you've started a couple of companies or been in a CEO role, you can bring an immense amount of value to the table that other brokers just can't.

As Robert Schuller once said, "Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation." I can attest to the importance of preparation in business, having successfully sold my business after three attempts, with the third being highly successful. Sponsors like Founders play a crucial role in supporting Vistage members and operators. #TransactionReadiness #BusinessSuccess #Preparationiskey

Learn to say "𝗡𝗢" Was just offered an amazing family operated business whereby the owner wants to retire. Strong financials with a good EBITDA, and a fair asking price. The opportunity came to us through a third party, who, in turn, was working with another intermediary and to place this deal, we would need to go to another intermediary - this meant there are just too many mouths to feed, to many people wanting a cut of the commission. The reality was that we could of placed this deal fairly easily, as always there would be hoops to jump through and paperwork to be completed - but the terms were simply not right for us. Time vs reward was uneven, with two of the intermediaries expecting equal money for no effort. Time is our most valuable asset, so we made the tough decision to walk away. Unfortunately, we won’t be moving forward with this deal. It’s a solid business with significant potential, but the terms just weren’t in our favour 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧...
