HAWTHORN VILLAGE | Alpine Health is excited to announce the successful allocation of a $214,000 grant as part of the Australian Government’s investment to enhance aged care facilities in regional, rural, and remote communities. This funding, awarded through Round 2 of the Aged Care Capital Assistance Program (ACCAP), will support the much-needed refurbishment of Hawthorn Village in Bright, ensuring the facility continues to provide high-quality care for local residents.
The $214,000 grant and an additional $200,000 investment from Alpine Health will focus on bathroom and dining room renovations at Hawthorn Village. These improvements will help to enhance the comfort, functionality, and overall experience for the elderly residents who call Hawthorn Village home.
Senator for Victoria, Lisa Darmanin, said “This funding is fantastic news for the Bright community and surrounds. The refurbishment of Alpine Health Hawthorn Village will ensure older locals can access much-needed, quality aged care services while staying connected to their families and communities.”
Alpine Health interim CEO, Rhys Gloury, expressed gratitude for the grant and the opportunity to enhance the facilities at Hawthorn Village. "This funding will make a significant difference for our residents, helping us create a more comfortable and modern facility. We’re proud to be part of the Australian Government's ongoing efforts to strengthen aged care in our community."

2wLove to see our local transit agency take the baton on these street calming and transit activation projects! Since the City of Albany had recently rebuilt the outer section of New Scotland Ave, hopefully it can now finish the 'complete street' redesign of the inner section, and tackle the long-planned addition of protected bike lanes across the whole N/S Manning Blvd corridor!
