As Rob Abelow, the OG direct to fan believer said - "Under 10% of direct to fan platforms spent any time real time thinking about what's missing from the fan experience & improving it, never-mind actually speaking to superfans. If fans don't want it, who cares how utopian it is for the artists." I'm excited to announce that I'll be starting a newsletter - "The Fan Perspective". I'm bringing a fresh perspective to the hot topic of direct to fan - the perspective of a superfan. Most of the creators and founders building in this are either music industry insiders, A&Rs, music business folks, or someone from the music industry who actually have only seen and talk about the artist side of the equation. And I'm bringing into light the other side of the equation - what do we as fans want, why will we get tickets to your concert and scream at the top our lungs, why do we hate VIP packages, how we as fans would want these direct to fan models shape up, and a lot more. I've been a superfan since the age of 9, when I heard KK, on radio and have been obsessed about music for the last 15 years of my life. And now as a superfan I'm helping my favorite artists build their 1000 true fans club. Covering more on this in the first edition of the newsletter - my journey as a superfan. Stay tuned, and subscribe to the newsletter below - https://lnkd.in/gJspKJYD #directtofan #superfans #fandom #music

Whether playing my drum kit, cueing up a gem from my vinyl collection, or seeing one of my favorite bands live, music is a huge part of my life! I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to meet bands at the height of their careers and others before they hit it big. Time and again, I’ve noticed that what jettisons bands and artists to certain stardom is their distinct sound, which they eventually become famous for. Distinction is much less about reaching the masses and much more about reaching those who resonate with you. While others may seek to emulate a certain sound, you, as a fan, can separate that artist from a playlist the second the first notes hit because their sound is so distinctive. Early in an engagement with a client, I focus on what makes their business distinctive. I’ll often see my client light up and enthusiastically tell me how. This method of discovery is where we work together to harness that distinction and shape it to resonate with their clients. How are you distinctively marketing your business to create raving fans? #marketing #marketingagency

The right music can elevate your ad from forgettable to unforgettable. I'm in love with the remake of this music from Gillette 🪒 The disgust on my wife's face when I butcher the lyrics but truly nail the crescendo of → "Gillette, The Best A Man Can Get". It's inspired. Music bypasses our logical thinking and connects with us on an emotional level, making ads more memorable and impactful 📈 #advertisingandmarketing #music #branding What's a memorable ad that stuck with you? Put it in the comments!

⭐ ️ From companies being in their Taylor Swift inspired Eras and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies using 70’s and 80’s music, music has been and continues to be important to marketing! There are many different reasons about why this is, but these are 2 main reasons that I can think of. 🎧 First, music is always around us whether it be in stores, in our earbuds, or in media, so if a song is used in a piece of media, there will be an association between the music and the product. Second, if you focus on a specific genre of music in marketing, you have a lot of ways to make an ad more memorable like genre specific color, images, and text. 😄 I’ll always want to keep exploring why successful campaigns are able to positively impact people! #Music #Marketing #Advertisements
