You are not doing what you set out to do. I bet. We became Systems Engineers in order to design complex (and awesome) products. Manage complexity, discuss with the domain experts, analyse impacts, keep the big picture coherent and the customer happy. Reality can be quite different: ➡ explaining to your domain experts how to use their requirements tool or where to find the architecture... ➡ ...which after 9 months of project duration they see for the first time. Whether the implementation matches it ... is pure luck 🍀 ➡ reviews, reviews, reviews ➡ running after knowledge which they hide from you in PowerPoints, Excels and Teams chats ➡ the end of one assessment marks the beginning of the next How could this happen? In my opinion -> unnecessarily complex processes and tools. Give your domain experts a world they easily understand and they will come and provide their knowledge voluntarily. 👩🔬 Be the Systems Engineer they told you about in the job description.
