The U.S. is heating up its #cleanenergy game with a $60M U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) investment in enhanced #geothermal systems! By 2035, this could be a game-changer in achieving the Biden administration's goal of 100% clean electricity. This investment is creating jobs and providing reliable, cost-effective energy across the nation by funding three projects fueled by #geothermalenergy.

There is still time to participate in the BIRD Energy call for proposals.  The deadline for the executive summary submission has been extended to Wednesday, July 10. The BIRD Foundation has launched its latest BIRD Energy Call for Proposals, inviting U.S.-Israel R&D collaborations to accelerate innovation in renewable energy, energy efficiency and decarbonizing technologies.  BIRD Energy is a joint program of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Israel Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure - משרד האנרגיה והתשתיות, and the Israel Innovation Authority רשות החדשנות. With up to $1.5 million in non-dilutive grants available, BIRD Energy is seeking groundbreaking clean energy projects in areas such as Solar and Wind Power, Advanced Vehicle Technologies, Smart Grid, Alternative Fuels, Storage and more.   This is a unique opportunity for strategic partners from both countries to come together to enhance the R&D process, speed time to market, and create a cleaner, more sustainable future. Public Power(PART 2/2) This is where, after all of this, Public Power makes the most sense. The scale is small enough to be personal. All of the mantras of energy utilities (safety, reliability, affordability) can be satisfied while others (independence, resilience, equity) can be added to the list. This path can be tread within the current system, while we make the other adjustments we need to concentrate towards personal responsibility and ownership. 🌟Highlights from the first-ever Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) National Consortium Annual Workshop 🌟 Last month, consortium members, researchers, and industry experts convened to push forward innovative LDES solutions that will transform grid resiliency and support a decarbonized future. The event featured keynote speakers and discussion sessions covering a broad spectrum of challenges—and opportunities—facing the LDES space. Nearly 200 industry experts and stakeholders attended. Most notably, on the second day of the workshop, the consortium published their first set of Industry Recommendations aimed at overcoming key commercialization challenges for LDES technologies. Today, Piotr Kus, ENTSOG, joined the 10th edition of the European Commission's Energy Infrastructure Forum, and actively participated in the high-level policy session on fast-tracking towards the EU’s net zero energy infrastructure.   Discussions centered on #infrastructure planning for gas and electricity to support the ongoing decarbonisation efforts, where ENTSOG’s contributions to the exchanges allowed us to emphasise the following key points and challenges to be addressed 👇   📍 Energy System Integration is at core of the work, evidenced in the ongoing cooperation with ENTSO-E and once established – ENNOH. 📍 In #TYNDP 2024, projects submitted show important trend of significant increase of #H2 projects. 📍 Need to plan and think together to enhance the interlinkages and synergies between electricity, H2 and gas systems to speed up decarbonisation process. 📍 Futureproofing new infrastructure as much as possible. #Repurposing existing infrastructure will develop this grid in the most cost-efficient and quick way. 📍 #H2 investments need to be taken now.
