Happy to join this important Politico panel discussion today at 5pm on securing America’s supply chain for critical infrastructure. The threats to critical supply chains, and therefore, to US economic security, are plentiful. If those threats were limited to unintended impacts from natural disasters, unpredictable “black swan” events and market conditions, there would still be a need for Exiger to illuminate and characterize the risks and fragilities to avoid serious impacts. However, many supply chain threats to critical infrastructure are quite intentional. America’s adversaries have been methodically and intentionally infiltrating and influencing supply chains for decades to monopolize markets, create fragility, undermine US leadership, and re-order the international system. Exiger’s full spectrum suite of solutions can tilt the scales back in America’s favor and make transparent even the threats that try to remain hidden. There is a strong necessity to further implement Cyberspace and Electromagnetic Spectrum in Multidomain Operations! What does that mean for NATO? My vision: 1. The Alliance is able to defend itself within cyberspace as effectively as it does in the air, on land, at sea and in space in order to maintain freedom of action and manoeuvre at all times. 2. The Alliance is able to gain access to, and maintain advantage within the electromagnetic spectrum against adversarial sub-threshold activities; and to create & maintain superiority within the electromagnetic environment throughout the transition from peace to crisis and conflict. 3. The Alliance has integrated cyber and electromagnetic operations into its cross domain approach. 4. Static- and deployable CIS will ensure Command & Control at all times. The implementation of this vision is very important: - It strengthens NATOs credibility - It assures our citizens and - It deters our adversaries You can count on me. “Trying to reengineer an enterprise capability at the edge doesn’t work,” said Lt. Gen. Maria Barrett, the Commanding General of the United States Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) at a panel discussion on October 14 during the Association of the United States Army’s annual meeting. Instead, she said, “Whatever application or service that we are deploying, it has to work at the edge first and then we bring it back into the enterprise.” Barrett added that, as the Army continues modernizing its network, tactical “commanders are more cognitive of the fact that they will be operating in a contested electromagnetic spectrum.” They understand that “they have to know what their signature looks like” and what their adversaries’ electronic signature looks like. Commanders also understand that their command posts will have to move more frequently, and Barrett said that they appreciate the fact that the modernized network will enable them to do so with “little or no disruption.” #USArmySignalCorps #Signalcorps #USARMY @US_CYBERCOM @ARCYBER @armyfutures @Signal_School
