Today marks the beginning of the long anticipated 1847 campaign for YesLiberia, Inc. The team has worked tirelessly to develop and plan for this. When I first started working with this non-profit, I was amazed about what I didn't know about Liberia. The history is rich and intriguing. Here is a quick history lesson 😉 1847 is the year that Liberia was emboldened to take it's freedom. Liberia, founded in 1822, was originally an outpost for returning free slaves from America. It wasn't until 25 years later that Liberians felt empowered to claim its independence. That feeling of empowerment from 1847 still remains today. And YesLiberia is a main player in keeping that feeling alive! They offer access to education and leadership development to children who would otherwise be forgotten.
