Wasa Woodplast is a polyurethane-coated production board that WASA AG has been offering its customers in the concrete industry since 2010. The very impact-resistant and durable polyurethane coating of the board with softwood core is truly impressive. The resulting high bending strength creates a production board that is in no way inferior to a hardwood board - without the risk of bleeding, swelling or gap formation. But how is this high-tech product manufactured? This week, I had the chance to visit the new production line for Woodplast boards in Neubrunn, Germany - from the step-by-step production of the solid wood cores to the final polyurethane coating. A PUR laminating machine is a type of equipment used for laminating surfaces such as MDF, plywood, melamine board, and other materials with PVC or PET materials. PUR (Polyurethane Reactive) is a type of adhesive commonly used in laminating machines, which provides a strong bond and high resistance to water, heat, and chemicals.To use a PUR laminating machine, first, you would need to prepare the materials to be laminated and cut them to the desired size and shape. Then, you would need to load the PVC or PET material into the machine and set the desired temperature and pressure settings. Once the machine has reached the correct temperature, you would place the materials to be laminated onto the bed of the machine, with the PVC or PET material on top.Next, the machine would apply the PUR adhesive to the PVC or PET material and activate it with heat, causing it to become reactive and bond to the surface of the materials being laminated. Analyzing PROS/CONS of all the options for fabricating our #TridentLS1 hull, this company is able to handle our ~16'/5m long trimaran hull in one shot (up to 17' parts can be created they say) using marine grade #hdpe via their #rotomolding process - surface color/finish options - impressive. Alongside Extrathane, Besthane and Softhane, Besthane Soft is one of the four polyurethane materials developed by Blickle based on its many years of experience. The formula was optimised until Besthane Soft provided the desired characteristics: exceptionally high operational comfort, a high level of floor surface preservation, low-noise operation and a particularly high dynamic load capacity. This series is also abrasion-resistant, oil-resistant and flexible at low temperatures. The casted tread is used with either an aluminium or nylon wheel centre. The nylon version is also hydrolysis resistant. The formula was optimised until Besthane Soft provided the desired characteristics: exceptionally high operational comfort, a high level of floor surface preservation, low-noise operation and a particularly high dynamic load capacity. The tread is frequently used for systems or transport units in the automotive industry, industrial trucks, machinery and machining industry. We are also happy to provide other Shore hardness values and special colours.
