Red squirrels are one of my favourite native British wildlife species. This beautiful species is endangered in England and Wales due to interspecific competition with grey squirrels, diseases such as Squirrelpox, and habitat loss. Red squirrels typically live in coniferous and deciduous woodlands and need sufficient tree canopy structure and woodland connectivity to efficiently forage and reduce the risk of predation. Deforestation and changing land uses (housing, roads, industrial) are causing some woodland areas to become isolated or destroyed, no longer able to support and sustain red squirrels and many other wildlife populations. It is incredibly important that proper planning and risk assessments are carried out for forestry operations so that impacts are minimised for our native species.
Long week? Slow your racing thoughts and escape to nature. Notice the dappled sunlight of a woodland in summertime...the russet gleam of a Red Squirrel's coat as it leaps gracefully... birdsong fills the air...hear the rustle and swish of leaves on the breeze. This is your sign to step outside today.🍃 #RSPBNatureBreak

Daily Journaling Devotional -- Daily Word - Relay Race Boats generate wakes. You have seen this and perhaps even felt it if you have been wading near the shore or been in a small boat when a large boat passes by. Do you see a larger scale application of this concept? A spiritual one? There have been spiritual movements throughout history that have influenced all that came after them. As a result you don’t have to recreate the whole structure of doctrine and church government from scratch. You have the benefit of those who have gone before you to build roads and cities and also to build churches and cathedrals. In a relay race every member of the team contributes to the effort in sequence. Now you are carrying the baton. Will you run your race well for the benefit of those who come after you?

Hello friends family and acquaintances today is National Archery Day on the second Saturday in May recognizes one of the oldest sports still in existence. Archery has been around since before 2800 BC when bows were being used for hunting and battle. In 1900, the modern Olympic games introduced archery as an official event. However, it only appeared again in 1904, 1908 and 1920. Then once again after a long absence, archery returned in 1972. In recent years, archery's growing popularity is piquing people's interest. One supporting reason points to the National Archery in the Schools Program(NASP) that began in Kentucky in 2002. Since then, the program expanded to 47 states and 10 countries, with over 2.1 million kids participating each year. Archery has benefits, too. Did you know that besides improving upper body strength, archery improves mental focus? Other benefits of archery include: The sport (like many do) develops confidence. Archery creates a sense of accomplishment. It's social! At events, people get to know one another and exchange tips, resources, and encouragement. Archery can be practiced all year long. Participants learn a lifelong respect for safety. #NationalArcheryDay #dallasharristips

There was a monkey who lived in a forest tree, by a river. One day, the monkey saw a fish swimming in the river and thought the fish was struggling. Feeling compassionate, the monkey resolved to save the fish. It swiftly climbed down the tree, reached out, and grabbed the fish from the water. It then climbed back up and laid the fish on a tree branch. There, the fish flapped violently and soon died. The monkey was puzzled, it had only wanted to help. This story highlights a fundamental idea about different perspectives, environments, and misunderstanding. The monkey, being a land-dwelling creature, interpreted the fish's swimming as struggling or suffering because it judged the situation based on its own environment and experience. It saw the fish being underwater, not breathing air as it does, and assumed that the fish was in peril. In its well-intentioned efforts to help, it took the fish out of its natural environment and put it into its own environment, thus leading to the fish's demise. The moral of the story is a caution against assuming that what is right or natural for one being necessarily applies to others. It warns us of the dangers of imposing our own perspectives and ways of living onto others without truly understanding their needs, their nature, or their environment. This parable also encourages us to develop a deep sense of understanding and empathy for the diverse perspectives and needs of different beings, recognizing that each has its own unique way of being in the world. #EnsureOthersFeelSeen #EnsureOthersAreHeard #EmpathyInAction
