An idea I've had for a long time: You and your friend are chatting about meeting up, and you decide on a day/time. What's your next step? → Do you make a mental note and remember? → Do you open your calendar app and create an event? → Do you invite the person to the event? → Do they use their calendar? What if you could just do it directly inside the text conversation you're already having? In the same way you would use Venmo or any other app directly inside your text thread, you would pop open [this app], select a day/time, hit "invite," and your friend would be able to accept/decline the event without leaving the text thread. This would happen without having to open a calendar app. As the event approaches, you both will get text reminders and any other necessary information about your meet-up. Note: - In the backend, you and your friend can have your Google calendar connected to avoid schedule conflicts. - Your phone number will be connected to the calendar. So any changes you make to the event, it would be reflected in the text and in your calendar without having to interact with a Google calendar. What problems does this solve? → Problem 1: You don't need to get your friend's email addresses, open your calendar app, invite them, and then hope that they accept/decline the event. My non-tech/biz friends aren't great about using their calendars, and I don't know their email addresses. → Problem 2: Let's say you meet someone for the first time at an event or something. You don't have to get their email address. You connect with them via text, you send them a quick calendar invite and boom you're done. ––– Anyway, it's just an idea I've had for 2 years. I catch myself thinking about this whenever I am setting up a meet-up with my friends. I don't see anything like this on the market. If anyone wants to collaborate and build it together, let me know.
