Sydney’s harbourside suburbs in particular saw the rapid development of large houses for residential flat buildings. In order to better understand the legacy of this period, Woollahra Municipal Council engaged GML to prepare a thematic history of the local government area's interwar architecture, spanning residential flats, houses, and commercial buildings. During this period, Woollahra saw significant development, from the rise of apartment living to new forms like garages and service stations, shaping much of the suburb's unique character. This publicly available history includes profiles of influential architects, a guide to key interwar buildings and a style guide, offering valuable insights into this transformative era.
