There are Conferences and Conferences... Encounters - and Encounters... And Leadership Approach and - well approaches to Leadership. Meeting #MaryRobinson, First Woman President of Ireland, former Commissioner and today among others Chair of The Elders Foundation will forever mark a Highlight in my Journey. Mrs Robinson's first Words to me still resonate: "so good to have a Woman President of a global Confederation...": so much to unpack! Kuddos to the Employment & Recruitment Federation for gifting the Participants of this year's #TalentCon with a truly stellar line-up of Speakers, peaking in the Wisdom of a transcendent World Leader. As the Industry standing for Talent, the Human Factor, Leadership, Human Centricity, witnessing one of the most iconic Representatives standing for Courage, Engagement and servant Leadership has Impact beyond Words. Mrs Robinson perfectly closed the circle to David McWilliams Call for the need of #CathedralThinking: long-term projects or goals realised for the sake of or for benefit of future generations; the collective mindset of certain groups in the past that led them to plan and initiate large-scale projects which would take a very long time to complete. Most contributors toiled knowing that they would never see the fruits of their labour. The projects used labour, resources and capabilities that were needed for their own time, but the benefits would mainly go to future generations. It is therefore both a mindset and a set of actions that considered the future not as vague and abstract, but as something that mattered as much as contemporary wants and needs. It manifested as conscious efforts to pass 'gifts' down the river of time. Geraldine King Alison Comyn World Employment Confederation #LeadingInAChangingWorldOfWork #WorkingForYou

Congratulations Presidium on being one of our 2024 CRE's Best Places to Work! 🎉 The best place to work is more than benefits packages, compensation and flexibility. Although all the aforementioned matter, we also considered examples set by corporate leadership, the company's spirit to giving back, and the affection employees help at these firms. Greetings from a week of solitude in a charming village in the West of Ireland! 👋🏻 After a whirlwind year and a half— from putting everything in storage in spring ’23 to head to the British Isles, unexpectedly falling in love with an Irishman, planning multiple wedding celebrations, navigating the green card process, and hopping between Ireland, Iceland, Minneapolis, Austin, and back again— it was time for a much-needed solo retreat. To spend time surrounded by stillness, beauty, and nature. To reflect, process, write, and plan for what’s ahead. I’ve found that creating space to slow down and intentionally step away from the noise and constant execution is key to regaining clarity and perspective. The “pulling back” is what propels you forward with renewed focus and momentum. As I soak in this time, here’s what I’m getting excited about: - Soon I’ll be launching 'On Scaling Within,' a Substack exploring strategies for leaders and teams to thrive amidst change and growth. - Scaling Within’s L&D programs are taking shape— both on the human side of leadership development and on equipping teams to navigate change, growth, and uncertainty. - I’m also in the early stages of planning our first leadership retreat next year to create space for leaders to get away and get refreshed, regain clarity, and strategize for the future. In Ireland! ☘ 🤗 More details to come! For now, I’m savoring the stillness and preparing for what’s ahead. #Solitude #Reflection #ScalingWithin #NewBeginnings #LeadershipDevelopment #CreateSpace

Top Talent Wants These 3 Things If a company wants to attract and keep top talent, it must provide: - Fair pay - Solid growth opportunities - More freedom and flexibility Everything else is secondary for most employees. Miss out on these, and you'll struggle with hiring and retention. #Leadership

Check out my latest Human Capital Leadership article, "When No One Retires: Leading an Aging Workforce in the 21st Century." From the conclusion: "As developed nations experience a significant longevity revolution, organizations must rise to the challenge of effectively leading intergenerational workforces where employees remain engaged for entire careers spanning multiple decades. Those who rethink traditional practices will unlock tremendous value from mature talent who can nurture an adaptable culture of learning and mentoring across all generations. With inclusive performance evaluations emphasizing growth, succession planning focused on gradual knowledge transfer, accommodations for changing needs over time, and vibrant work experiences leveraging diversity of perspectives, companies can continue unleashing discretionary effort and maximizing potential from their increasingly senior staff. Those that cultivate multi-generational collaboration through relevant experiences and opportunities will thrive in the era when no one retires as predicted. The successful organizations of the future will be those defining engagement and fulfillment at all career stages." Take a look at the full article and leave your comments below!

Ideally there would be something happening in the news that could be an easy link to the Insights Colours of Red, Green, Yellow and Blue but unfortunately we've drawn a bit of a blank on that today 😉. Shame. Never mind - Lets just remind ourselves of how Change has implications for what people at all levels need to thrive and adapt through it. Here at Kingshurst Consulting Ltd we specialise in taking real-life challenges people face at work- For example creating the right organisational culture, dealing with change, forming new effective relationships, stepping-up into effective leadership, that sort of thing - and approach them from the framework of the Insights Discovery Colour Energy model. #electionresults2024 #election #Leadership
