The DISC behavioral assessment has been taken by millions of people around the world and it was first outlined in the book "Emotions of Normal People",[published in 1928, and written by William Moulton Marston. The objective of the assessment is to not only help us better understand how we prefer to communicate but more importantly to recognize and appreciate how others communicate differently so that we can have more robust conversations and healthier relationships. If you have taken the DISC assessment, please share with us your letter style and also one thing you love about it, and one thing that may frustrate you about it.

I've delved into several popular personality assessments, finding many insightful but not necessarily worth sharing—until now! Other tests are cognitive or emotion based; The Kolbe Test is conative/instinct based. Highly recommend. https://lnkd.in/gQpHAxFp

Excellent article on the different types of emotions and their effect on human behavior. Psychologists have come a long way since Ekman's six basic emotions theory universally experienced! More complex today with mixed emotions theories. For example, basic emotions such as joy and trust can be combined to create love. And Happiness tends to be the emotion that people strive for the most! https://lnkd.in/eaEB8MEk

Click the link for a great article on the normal multiplicity of our minds.
Contrary to belief, we don’t possess a unified mind with a single coherent purpose. We have many minds: ‘multiminds’. These small minds, which the late psychologist Robert Ornstein often called, slightly jokingly, “simpletons”, all have minds and agendas of their own. https://bit.ly/49Ei7Uz

How do we incorporate awareness of our emotions into our decision process and why would we even care ? Every time we engage in interactions with people we do so with our whole organism. Even though we might think that we are just doing so on a intellectual and cognitive level, it is our emotional and physical signals that is driving our response and reactions. We can choose to let that happen unconsciously and see how well we can build relation ships, and trust and followships through not being aware, or we can choose to invite the awareness in, and use it to create better and more sustainable outcomes. Whenever you engage in human interactions, physical, emotional, and mental informations are shared. Some of them we express and some of them are just observational. But awareness around those observations is a great way to merge our true values and intentions with our intellectual and cognitive respons.

The psychologist William Moulton Marston contributed 3 fantastic things to the world: the lie detector test, the character of Wonder Woman, and DISC theory. DISC theory has been widely recognised in the field of psychology and is used as a tool for understanding an individual's behaviour and communication style. Many sales leaders and salespeople have perfected their sales pitch, but does your pitch change depending on the type of personality type you are selling to? Next Tuesday, 7th of May at midday, my fellow #salesgeek Sue Blackhurst and I are running a Liverpool Chamber Insights Workshop on this very subject. So: 1. Would you like to improve your understanding of yourself and your fellow humans? 2. Would you like to improve the way you communicate with your customers? 3. In turn, would you like to significantly increase your conversion ratio? Details on the link. Get booked on. See you there. https://lnkd.in/gaaMFSMR #liverpoolchamber #salestraining #disctheory
