Kidney Strong Spotlight 💪 🧡 This past weekend, BuzzRx Sales Representative and kidney transplant recipient Mark Heller participated in the National Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his son and a few friends. In July 2019, Mark underwent kidney transplant surgery and was given a second lease on life by a friend from high school, who was his donor. This was also when he was introduced to the National Kidney Foundation and started getting involved in their local events. "With what I have been through, being able to raise awareness and donations for NKF, plus give hope to people, makes what I do extremely relevant." Read more about Mark's inspiring story and how you can help support the National Kidney Foundation with BuzzRx: https://lnkd.in/dQpGSjCD #KidneyWalk #NationalKidneyFoundation #KidneyStrong

You may have seen or heard stories about transplant chains, also known as paired donations. This is when a living donor is not a match for a specific recipient but still agrees to donate, setting off a chain reaction of transplants. Recently, surgical teams completed their first paired liver transplant. But you might be asking yourself, if a person only has one liver, how can you be a living donor to start this chain? Dr. Timucin Taner, transplant surgeon, explains how it works #organdonation #livertransplant #transplantchain #livingdonors

🌟 Why Platelet Donations Matter More Than You Might Think 🌟 Did you know that one platelet donation can be the difference between life and death for someone fighting cancer, undergoing surgery, or suffering a traumatic injury? Unlike regular blood donations, platelets are unique – they’re essential for blood clotting, and for some patients, they’re critical to survival. Here’s the thing: platelets only last about five days, which means hospitals are always in need. With such a short shelf life, our healthcare system relies on constant donations to keep the supply up. And because the need is so immediate, a single donation can make an instant difference in someone’s life. 💉❤️ As someone who just donated platelets at The Blood Center I can tell you firsthand – it’s easy, rewarding, and truly life-changing. If you’ve got an hour to spare and want to make an impact you can literally feel, consider making an appointment. Every drop counts, but platelets? They’re pure gold. 🏆 Join me in making a difference – give platelets, save lives. #BloodDonation #PlateletDonation #SaveLives #GiveBack

🕊 Acts of kindness can make a big difference in the world! That's why we've teamed up with the UA Responders Foundation to raise funds to purchase a surgical aspirator. Why are we focusing on surgical aspirators? These devices are crucial in surgery, as they help doctors by clearing fluids and substances from the surgical area, making it easier to see what they're doing. This lowers the risk of infections and complications and improves the overall outcome of surgeries. By joining us in this effort, you're helping hospitals get the necessary equipment to provide better medical care. Our aim is $1000 or 40,000 UAH which will allow us to purchase one aspirator. It's possible for us, right? Even the slightest donation can save lives 🙌🏻 Make your donation: https://lnkd.in/d8H9z-KU #StandWithUkraine

The business of BLOOD SUPPLY is foundational to modern medicine and 99% of organizations ensuring our blood supply are NON-PROFIT. Spotlight on the Life-Changing Impact of Eye and Tissue Donation This week, we’re shining a light on the incredible impact of eye and tissue donation. By becoming a donor, you have the power to give someone the precious gift of sight or support groundbreaking vision research that could benefit countless others. Every day, the dedicated team at the Lions Eye Donation Service (LEDS) travel across Victoria to recover donor eye tissue, which is then prepared for potentially sight-saving surgeries. It's not just about the medical procedure—it's about the lives transformed by these generous donations. Last year alone, 2,486 Australians received the gift of sight through corneal transplants. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the donors and their families who made this life-changing gift possible. People like Gavin De Loree a Tissue Coordinator at LEDS with a rich background in critical care and organ donation coordination, work closely with families to navigate the sensitive decisions around eye and tissue donation. “It’s about having the empathy to pick up on subtle cues and knowing when to give families some time,” says Gavin, reflecting the compassion and commitment that guides every step of this process. By choosing to donate, you are not only giving the gift of sight but also enabling advances in medical research that can lead to new treatments and hope for the future. If you're considering becoming a donor and want to learn more, LEDS provides a helpful guide on how to get involved. https://lnkd.in/gr3yj3K4 Help us raise awareness during DonateLife Eye and Tissue Spotlight Week by sharing this post and starting the conversation. Together, we can make a lasting impact. #DonateLife #EyeandTissueDonation #EyeDonation #OrganDonation #MedicalResearch

Below was posted on my personal LI account, we just created a LI profile for the Foundation. Children with Cleft Lip/palate should not face stigma growing up as its addressable, but acute challenges in the developing world. We aim to demystify cleft where, when, why, and how. I come from a background that includes Fortune 500 companies, startup ecosystem, sustainability, ecommerce, etc., and will apply to a better place for such children, as my late brother's wishes. The purpose of the Foundation is (1) reducing the time and anxiety associated with finding information on Cleft Lip/Palate , from News to Research to Hospitals to Blogs to Non-Profit Foundations to Post Surgery Care to Support Groups to Family Messages to Countries, (2) partner with hospitals and medical practices associated with cleft treatment and (3) provide needs based donation, Ways to Donate, for qualified surgical procedures and post surgery care. My younger brother, Dr Faizi, was diagnosed with cancer at age of 11, treatment and prayers led to remission for 40 years. He dedicated his life to become a ‘special’ #children’s #doctor. Unfortunately, the cancer returned and he passed away, surrounded by the LOVE of his family and friends, on New Years Day 2024. As former- Chief of Craniofacial Pediatric Plastic Surgery, he was actively involved in resident and medical student education, and as the surgical director of annual cleft mission to Guatemala. His research interests focused on cleft and craniosynostosis anomalies, and he has published articles and presented at national and international conferences. The objectives of the non-profit Foundation, https://lnkd.in/eK3NEGvV, based in Utah, registration number 13913889-0140, tax id number 99-2338326 and 501(c)(3) approved charity. My brother's wish was to leave this place better than he found it, and he was able to do that... as he brought smiles to children and their families... I welcome your help, guidance, and assistance for this noble cause. CLEFT Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) International Comprehensive Cleft Care Workshop European Cleft Organisation #cleft
