We’re excited to share highlights from two recent environmental initiatives led by our teams in Bureau Veritas Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. BV Riyadh participated in a planting event at the Tuwaiq Ecological Reserve, organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. Employees and their families came together to support environmental sustainability and raise ecological awareness. In Khobar, our team partnered with the Khobar Municipality to plant 200 trees across two parks. Over 50 BV employees joined hands to contribute to greener and healthier community spaces. These initiatives reflect our commitment to sustainability, ecological balance, and community well-being. Saudi Arabia has announced an ambitious plan to plant 10 billion trees as part of its Saudi Green Initiative. This initiative aims to combat desertification, improve air quality, and restore over 74 million hectares of degraded land. The project, spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is one of the largest greening efforts globally and is expected to create numerous jobs and promote sustainable development. A massive residential development is planned for the outskirts of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Saudi-based Talaat Moustafa Group has joined forces with the National Housing Company (NHC) to develop a project called Banan City. This ambitious undertaking aims to provide over 27,000 new homes for Saudi families. Spread across 10 million square meters in northeastern Riyadh, Banan City will offer a variety of housing options, including villas and apartments. Sustainability is a key focus, with 40% of the project area dedicated to green spaces.
