Bureau of Land Management’s Post

Nevada is home to hundreds of naturally occurring hot springs, more than any other state! Many of them are located on public lands with natural pools, tubs, or stock tanks. A soak in a hot spring is a popular activity during the cold winter months, but it’s important to make sure you do it safely and respectfully. 💧 Check the temperature before you get in. Temps can vary and some hot springs can get far too hot for safe soaking. 💧 Keep hot springs clean. Don’t add any soaps, oils, or chemicals to hot springs pools and always pack out any trash. 💧 Respect private property. Not all natural hot springs are on public land so check land designations before you head to a site. 💧 Geotag sparingly. Too much visitation runs the risk of hot spring sites being overrun, trashed, or closed, plus part of the fun is having a hot spring all to yourself! 📸 Samantha Szesciorka, BLM #12DaysofPublicLands
