Onto the four key insights. So again, I'll just say that one of the ways that we were looking at the grid data this year was really to separate out the firms that had seen the most revenue growth in 2023 from those who hadn't and to try and distinguish what things those successful top performing firms were doing differently. What we found were these four key insights, which I should say are not in a particular order, they're all equally important, but the first is that these top performing firms were really laser focused on. Recruiter productivity and operational efficiency. They are also consciously and thoughtfully investing in enhancing the talent experience throughout the talent journey. They have automated a number of key tasks in a really leaning into AI. They're really market leaders and early adopters of that and they stayed incredibly focused on winning new business and creative about their strategies around winning new business even in the down economy.

Our 14th annual report includes a comprehensive analysis of the staffing and recruitment industry, spanning responses from firms of all sizes, recruitment models, and industries. Over 1,400 recruitment professionals from across the globe responded to this year’s survey. Key findings: In 2024, high-performing firms will look to: *Aggressively improve productivity and efficiency *Leverage automation and AI to take on rote tasks, freeing recruiters up to focus on client and candidate engagement *Build talent pools that can meet changing job requirements and technology to match them to the right jobs quickly *Rely on technology to win new business and increase differentiation in the marketplace Key data points: *Staffing firms remain cautious about the economy, but 2/3 expect it will improve in 2024 *Despite market headwinds, 17% of survey respondents still saw revenue increase by greater than 10% in 2023. *Two-thirds of staffing firms expect revenue to increase in 2024 *Top-performing staffing firms place candidates in 19 days or less *Firms that had the most success winning new business in 2023 were 44% more likely to have automated new lead engagement *55% of firms are starting to experiment with AI *Top-performing firms are using AI for shift scheduling and gathering client requirements
