Dinner’s more fun on the water – especially when shared with CEOs & Founders. 🥂 Last July 31, our event on the Pilot bar boat in NYC was a night of meaningful connections and valuable discussions. We engaged with top industry leaders and were able to exchange insights about entrepreneurial journeys. Thanks to Deel and Alumni Ventures for making it unforgettable! Our Nobellum team was proud to be a part of the Black Innovation Zone at the Elevate Festival. This event serves as a hub where entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders come together to push the boundaries of what's possible. The energy and the innovation on display was truly inspiring! We were especially proud to support the incredible founders from our Jamaican Delegation, who confidently pitched their ventures for award prizes. Their passion and drive reminded me of the importance of stepping out and making your mark. Putting yourself out there, whether it’s in front of a panel of investors or a room full of peers, takes guts—but it’s essential for growth. As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get caught up in the challenges of building a company, but moments like these reaffirm why we do what we do. Confidence in your vision and company is key. Trust in what you’re building, take those opportunities to showcase it, and watch your hard work open doors. To all founders out there: Keep pushing. Keep pitching. You never know when the next big opportunity will come your way! #ElevateFest2024 #Entrepreneurship

What an incredible journey hosting this pitch competition has been! I felt thankful to witness the talent and passion displayed on Friday night. Here are a few insights I've gathered: - The Power of Prep: Witnessing founders bring their A-game reminded me of the value of preparation. It’s not just about having a great idea but presenting it in a way that resonates with the audience. - Simplicity Wins: The pitches that were best received delivered made complex ideas simple. It’s an art to make the complicated understandable and engaging. - Embracing Feedback: I enjoyed how enthusiastic the judges were to provide feedback to the founders. The openness of our founders to learn and adapt was inspiring. - Beyond the Pitch: The event was a reminder of how vital connections and networks are in our entrepreneurial ecosystem. The conversations and relationships formed here have just as much value as the competition itself. --------------------------- A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this event successful! Excited to make the next event even better! #PitchPerfect #Innovation #Entrepreneurship

Celebrating 15 Years of Mojo... I listened to Paul Spiegelman and Bo Burlingham share their reflections on the past 15 years of the Small Giants Community. If you’re not familiar with #SmallGiants, we are a community of purpose-driven businesses united by a shared set of core beliefs. In his book, Bo Burlingham describes Small Giants as having 'a neat magical quality called Mojo'— the business equivalent of charisma. When a business has Mojo, you want to follow it, buy from it, and work there. 🥊 Now, imagine the impact when these businesses come together as a community. During the opening reception of this year's Small Giants Summit, I was asked about the ROI of attending the event. I can only speak from personal experience, but I'm sure my views are shared by many members... When I hit a growth plateau and sought to grow my business, I leaned on the community. At the time, we had these fantastic Passport events that took us behind the scenes at Small Giants like Zingerman's, Tasty Catering, and others. I remember feeling like a desperate CEO when Rob Dube recommended implementing EOS Worldwide. Bo Burlingham suggested I join an EO Chapter, and Tom Walter invited me to see how Tasty Catering was running The Great Game of Business. Their support and wisdom and support were, and continue to be, invaluable. Fast forward a decade to this week... I had the opportunity to share ideas on intentional growth and mindset with Mackey McNeill, CPA, PFS, and I look forward to exploring these topics further with her for my upcoming book. Right after our call, I delivered a book on Dignity in Business from Ari Weinzweig at Zingerman's to Susan Barry. We spent an hour discussing the power of community and the importance of businesses having deep connections in their community. That conversation sparked the idea for a fall dinner in Zurich— Joe Tabet, I hope you can join us! And, of course, none of this would be possible without the small but mighty team bringing us all together: Hamsa Daher, Bridget Bateman, Kathryn Sowa, and Annie Gough. If you're looking for a community of purpose-driven leaders, a space to nurture the next generation within your organization, and access to counsel from founders and owners of businesses with Mojo... check out Small Giants Community. #SmallGiants #Entrepreneurship #Community #Growth #Purpose

Why We Decided to Share the CEO Role at CoFound Yesterday, Lina Indarto and I spent time refining our accountability chart and organizational structure. We found ourselves debating the traditional C-suite titles like CEO and COO, and how they fit into the CoFound culture. Given that Lina and I both thrive in the visionary role, which is typically linked to the CEO position, we thought: why not embrace our complementary strengths in true CoFound fashion? So, we decided to take a unique approach – we are now Co-CEOs! Because what’s more CoFound than leading together, combining our visions, and breaking the mold? #Entrepreneurship #CoFound #VisionaryLeadership

When its time to grow, many turn to marketing tactics to secure sales. But before they dive in, small business owners would benefit from taking time to learn public relations strategies. When you get PR right, your marketing efforts become more effective and feel more authentic to your audience. It’s about shaping how people see your brand before you promote your products, leading to stronger relationships and better results.
