Ghosts and gaslights – a little observation on the sales process (and sympathy for the sales reps). Just a small peek into the upcoming issue of #NoRocketships. Buyingtime is sometimes an instigator, often a participant and regularly an observer of all sides of a sales process. And we've seen 3 components shift recently – one of which has seen a huuuge mix up. It's also the hardest: Closing. Everything has changed. Every prospect in your sales accepted pipeline is looking for honest references from peers. They're in plentiful supply nowadays. Vervaunt’s Slack group, Digital Leaders Club and (humbly) our own Commerce Futures community. Timescales are now much more fluid, too. Customers are starting very early in their search, and they do NOT want to be rushed into any last-minute renewals. Ghosting and gaslighting are much more the norm. Frustrating - especially for the young-buck sales reps out there under pressure. A moment of silence for these troopers. P.S. 2x growth in March for Stemmer? Sort of. Revenue did not grow by 2x. In fact, it dropped by $25. However, the amount of whitelabelers making money with Stemmer doubled! I prefer this diversified income, even though we didn’t generate as much in revenue. Stemmer is now a small team; I just onboarded a sales rep. Q1 is over too. I hit 90% of my revenue goal. My goal for Q2 is to build an autonomous sales engine for Stemmer. (Sales meaning acquiring whitelabelers). As a result, we’re aiming to 4x revenue in Q2.
