Your next BAD review 👉 Your next GREAT advertisement. Here's how 👇
Love this energy. Built my entire brand on "negative" feedback I received over the years I spent in a corporate setting. It's my favorite thing, tbh. Lead with your flaws!
1 Star. Brendan generated so much business we're having trouble cashing all of our checks! Would not recommend.
Lead with Siskel and Ebert… haha Way to target the older Boomer and Gen X crowd with the deeper pockets! 🤣 I remember this campaign and some others like it. It’s all about reinforcing your strategy. You shouldn’t try to be all things to all people. Differentiate! These one star reviews are actually solid testimonials!
Good point - sometimes we can use it our advantage. I saw a video the other day on TikTok where a dance crew had a slide show of all the bad reviews they got and they made dance moves about each one and it went viral and they got endorsements from it. Sometimes life really is just about not taking yourself too seriously.

Bad reviews also give you a chance to show how you make things right (or dig your heels into the ground when customers give feedback). Love these examples. Our products are not for everyone—we need to stop being afraid of that.
Yet another example of polarization and how it can be harnessed. Reminds me of stories of people who joined the US Marines because it is supposed to be harder and have less fancy toys than the other armed forces branches.
Love it. I got a really good response to a video i made where i read out bad review of my zine. So much so that im thinking of asking subscribers to leave bad reviews only

9moLove this! Using a bad review to showcase the far-from-ideal customer's perspective is a great way to show the ideal customer that the product's for them. I suspect a review along the lines of 'wayyyyyy too many metrics, it's overwhelming' could be killer for a SaaS product with advanced analytics.
