Our first Break Through Tech Connect recently took place at Accenture’s impressive offices in New York. The room buzzed with energy as fellows, partners, and industry leaders came together to celebrate our shared mission: empowering the next generation of tech talent. The event underscored the power of collaboration, and we are grateful for Accenture’s partnership since 2016. Their support has been instrumental in creating opportunities for early career technologists and advancing our vision to expand access to tech careers for diverse talent across the country. A highlight of the day was a keynote by the brilliant Allie K. Miller, who shared her insights on the rapid evolution of AI and its human-centered possibilities. From showcasing #AI tools to inspiring bold innovation, her advice resonated with our fellows: embrace imperfection, uncover missing insights, and move ideas into action. The keynote was followed by an engaging panel featuring our CEO Judith Spitz, Ph.D., alongside Accenture leaders Lee Barrett and Teresa Tung, who shared their expertise and advice with fellows eager to shape their tech careers. Thank you to everyone who joined us in building a more inclusive tech future. Together, we’re not only envisioning change but actively building it. 💻✨ Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/3ZXm6sj #RemovingBarriers #BreakThroughTech #TechDiversity #AIInnovation #Partnership

Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to solving one crucial question: “How can we help more people thrive?” Technological advancements have rapidly transformed organisational needs and the demand for upskilling has never been greater. We are witnessing the potential of AI to bridge this skills gap but not the widespread adoption to leverage the benefit and mitigate socioeconomic disparities. After speaking to dozens of organisations from corporates, to high growth companies and educational institutions, we heard a shared uncertainty on how to integrate AI to optimise people performance and organisational efficiency. What defines best practice? What solutions should we implement? How do we measure progress? With collective challenges, it’s necessary to create shared solutions. That’s why I’m excited to announce we will be holding our first ever AI & The Future of Work Summit - on October 10th at The Conduit, London. I’m so grateful that we’ll be joined by incredible leaders and friends including: - President of British Chambers of Commerce, and Chair of We-Transfer - Global Managing Director of Technology Research and Thought Leadership at Accenture - Ex-Chief Digital Officer at T-Mobile, and ex-CTO Office Google and Apple - Director of Policy and Public Engagement at Google DeepMind - CEOs and executives of leading companies (TikTok, Trustpilot, Hackajob, Lepaya) - Academic leaders in AI and Skills (including University of Oxford & Minerva University) Martha Lane Fox Marcus East Helen Krause, CFA H. James Wilson Claire Davenport Fabian Stephany Nicky Gray Rich Waterworth Ben Nelson Egle Vinauskaite Mark Chaffey René Janssen Dorothy Chou James Hurley Husayn Kassai Quench.ai For those who share my passion for nurturing talent, I’d love for you to join us. We’re creating a space for meaningful conversations and actionable insights that will drive real change. 👉 Please register your interest to attend here: https://summit.quench.ai/ Can’t wait to see you there! #AI #FutureOfWork #Leadership #Innovation #QuenchSummit2024

I am deeply honored to have been invited by Denny Strigl at Princeton to discuss what it takes to become a successful 'Future Leader.' Denny Strigl, widely regarded as the founding architect of the wireless industry, was Verizon Wireless's first CEO, transforming it into a $100 billion powerhouse—a milestone that earned him a place in the Wireless History Foundation Hall of Fame. His iconic “Can You Hear Me Now?” campaign remains one of the most effective advertising campaigns in telecom history, emphasizing Verizon's dedication to reliable coverage. Today's world is shaped by rapid technological advances, globalization, and an unprecedented pace of change. Effective leadership now requires a forward-thinking mindset rooted in adaptability and readiness. To succeed—and avoid the risk of becoming obsolete—leaders must be prepared for both present and future challenges. To become a Future Leader, one must consistently upgrade their skills, attain Digital Mastery, adapt to diverse environments, and push themselves to tackle the toughest challenges. Working across industries, functions, and cultures builds a unique versatility. Taking on the most complex problems shapes resilience and fosters growth. By committing to lifelong learning, continuous upskilling, and embracing challenges, you prepare yourself to lead effectively in any scenario. These experiences together create a well-rounded, adaptable leader, ready for the future. Technological disruption has reshaped work, enabling remote collaboration, democratizing freelancing through digital platforms, and integrating AI into the workforce. With the urgent need for tech skills, companies are prioritizing practical competencies over formal degrees. This shift might even drive universities to offer shorter programs to meet demand faster. Meanwhile, online educational resources allow individuals to gain essential skills without traditional degrees, opening new paths to meet industry needs. As AI and robotics redefine work, adaptable and self-driven learning becomes essential, putting the future of leadership squarely in our hands. #FutureLeader #DennyStrigl #Verizon #ATT #TMobile #BigTech #PrincetonUniversity #Princeton #FutureOfWork #Innovation #DigitalMastery

2024 has been quite the year, filled with innovation, collaboration, and impact across #BCG. We've achieved a lot together, from advancing #AI and #DigitalTransformation strategies to delivering actionable insights across industries. :-) Together, we shaped critical conversations at global events, drove breakthrough projects through our reporting, and engaged in partnerships with senior leaders. The focus has always been creating value and shaping the now and future. As the year comes to a close, it’s time to recharge and reflect. But that doesn't mean we STOP! Stay engaged, as there is so much more to come to support our clients into 2025 and beyond... Before then, here are six big highlights of the past 12 months - it was hard to narrow down the list of top moments, so I picked out those where our team had the biggest influence and welcome any others in the comments below: 1. Meeting and learning from our teams across the world doing amazing high-impact work with our clients; from EMESA to APAC, the US and SA, our BCG teams are raising the bar in so many ways. 2. In the spring, I joined "Deko" Hisayuki and Merit for a panel on AI trends for Japan and the US. We highlighted demographic gaps and labor impacts of #GenAI. 3. At Dreamforce, Salesforce did a great job articulating and demonstrating a clear vision of how Agents will unlock new capabilities, and 2025 being for sure the year of #AIAgents. 4. Our presence at Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent this year was larger than ever and it was an electrifying event, and being back with Roger was an added bonus. 5. It was pretty cool to be featured as a “wonky consultant” in a big feature on deploying AI from The New York Times. Consider this a reminder to rewire existing processes for those who haven't already! 6. My summer sabbatical was a lot of fun; but made even better by Remco, Matthew, Aziz, Kirsten, and Michael's takeovers of my LinkedIn while I was away on my travels. And buckle up, as ’25 will be even funkier. We will kick it off with some reporting from Davos in January. Stay tuned. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) BCG X

Attending yesterday’s Curaçao Tech Meetups was like stepping into a time capsule and seeing how far we’ve come. I’ve known Adric Walter since the days of ICQ, back when the internet was just beginning to connect us in ways we never imagined. To see how he’s evolved into a leader in innovation, organizing events that push the boundaries of what’s possible, makes me incredibly proud. Yesterday’s topic, “Women in Leadership in Times of AI,” was both timely and inspiring. The speakers (one of them my sister 😀 Narayana (Naya) Camelia CPC, ELI-MP) emphasized the vital role of human-centric leadership in an AI-driven world. They discussed how AI can optimize processes and enhance decision-making, but it’s our uniquely human qualities—creativity, empathy, and (I add) the ability to communicate effectively and building human connections—that will keep us relevant and irreplaceable. As members of the ICQ generation, we’ve witnessed firsthand the evolution of technology. But no matter how advanced AI becomes, it’s the human touch—our leadership, values, and vision—that will always be at the forefront of innovation. Props to Adric Walter and his STEM team for creating such a thought-provoking event. I’m excited to see how these discussions will continue to shape the future of communication, marketing, and leadership! #TechMeetup #WomenInLeadership #AI #Innovation #ICQGeneration #MarketingFuture

Back home after #Afrotech and feeling inspired. While some folks are sliding into "Let’s circle back in the New Year" mode, I’m using this energy to jumpstart 2025. Spending time with 35,000 professionals —part of the second-largest gathering of Black leaders in the U.S. after #Essence —left me with so much to reflect on. Here are a few highlights that truly resonated with me: Sharon Bowen, Chair of the NY Stock Exchange, reminded us that leadership requires being vocal and visible, especially in uncertain times. It’s easy to shrink back when things feel chaotic, but it is also time to show up and speak out. This was so timely! She also emphasized that failure, while uncomfortable, is the ultimate fertilizer for growth—something this recovering perfectionist is learning to embrace. Her perspective on DEI was equally powerful: diversity isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s a winning strategy. Companies may tweak their language, but the momentum behind intentional inclusion is here to stay. Rachel Gillum's insights on AI were transformative. She framed AI as a smart, tireless intern that performs best when given clear instructions- um, yes please! The concept of prompt engineering—writing detailed, specific requests to get the most out of AI—was a game-changer for me. From setting the tone to building personas, it’s about crafting inputs that lead to better outcomes. While at Afrotech I heard someone say AI won't replace us, but those who learn to harness it most certainly will. I am hoping to embrace AI as a tool to help me move beyond operational and administrative tasks to focus on more strategic, creative, and high-impact work! Durrell Blake Robinson's inspiring fireside chat centered around employee listening and predictive analytics took these ideas even further. Colgate’s approach to internal mobility and using AI to draw insights from survey data left me wondering how we can better empower employees at Parachute. From streamlining career conversations to identifying turnover trends, the potential is endless. There is so much more we can be doing here and I am excited to get more precise in the way we are using our data to support our people and culture. Finally, I wish I could remember who to attribute this to (help me out Afrotech Fam!), but one quote from the week has stuck with me is: "Be delusional with your vision and pragmatic with your execution." There’s an idea I’ve been sitting on—a whisper that’s turned into a scream. It’s bold, it’s a bit outside my comfort zone, but after Afrotech, I’m ready to make it real. What’s inspiring you as we close out 2024? Let’s keep this momentum going—2025 starts now. #Afrotech2024 #Leadership #AI #DEIB #GrowthMindset
