Continuous strengthening of EW countermeasures is forcing UAV manufacturers to seek new solutions to overcome electronic interference. One such solution has been the integration of AI into drone control systems. Protected from EW impact, these UAVs are already successfully attacking the enemy. Next in line are swarms of such drones, controlled by a single operator and capable of exchanging information among themselves. https://lnkd.in/dGCyAaVc

It's great to see a more focused approach by Defence to engaging with sovereign Australian drone and drone-mountable technology developers. The previous model of engaging a third party with no interest whatsoever in developing local capability, just didn't work. This new approach, however, managed directly by Defence, and which encompasses R&D, prototyping, field trials and commercialisation, seems to be on the right track. Time will tell. #drones #dronesolutions #sovereignty #uas #autonomousvehicles https://lnkd.in/geJfzPHM

UAV/Drones have proven to be surprising effective, on the Ukraine battlefield, can be produced at a very low cost but typically using RC controllers, on a known bandwidth and are easy to jam. A technology called "Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum" was co-invented (by movie actress Hedy Lamarr)) during World War II. I wonder if this announcement by Doodle Labs, called Sense solution uses this technology? "The war in Ukraine, which has often been referred to as the world’s first drone war, has led to both sides in the conflict relying on fleets of small unmanned aerial vehicles to surveil enemy positions and drop bombs on enemy targets." "These small, inexpensive drones, frequently equipped with first-person viewpoint (FPV) technology, are increasingly being deployed effectively on the battlefield in lieu of manned aircraft or missiles, which are more expensive by several orders of magnitude. However, one problem with these unmanned aircraft is the ease with which the enemy can jam their radio signals, causing them to miss their targets or crash." "A Los Angeles-based start-up electronics company is working to develop solutions to this problem, offering anti-jamming technology for use by Ukraine and allied nations. “I think it was initially unexpected, but there’s been just an incredible amount of innovation and creative uses of drones in the war,” Amol Parikh, co-CEO of Doodle Labs, said in an interview with DroneLife. In recent months the company has been focused on supporting many drone manufacturers – including those based in Ukraine, as well as those of allied nations such as PDW, an American company, and UK-based Evolve Dynamics — by supplying them with anti-jamming technology for their various categories and sizes of drones used in combat." #uavdronetechnology #uavdronejamming #frequencyhoppingspreadspectrum https://lnkd.in/eeCPj9Dv

Swarmer in Reuters 🚨 Shaping the Future of AI-Driven Drone Warfare Swarmer has taken central stage in a recent Reuters article showcasing how our cutting-edge advancements in AI-driven drone swarm technology revolutionize drone operations and enhance battlefield capabilities. Here are the key takeaways of this new must-read: 📈 Scalability with AI: Our CEO, Sergey Kuprienko, restates our goal perfectly: "Scaling up with human pilots just doesn't work. But with our AI, managing a swarm of 10 or 20 drones is a game-changer." ⛑️ Safety and Efficiency: Automation isn’t just about efficiency; it’s about saving lives. Our drones protect pilots on the front lines, reducing their exposure to enemy fire. 📡 Combatting Jamming: As signal jamming increases, our AI-operated drones are stepping up. Max Makarchuk from BRAVE1 highlighted that AI can boost FPV drone hit rates to around 80% — a significant leap from the current rates. 👩💻 Human in the Loop: We ensure human oversight in all critical decisions, blending the best of AI and human judgment, just like Samuel Bendett calls upon the tech developers and regulators. Max Hunder's spotlight is already making big waves in Ukrainian and European media. It's a testament to our commitment to driving defense technology innovation. LITHUANIA TO ALLOCATE EUR 3 MILLION FOR PRODUCTION OF FPV DRONES FOR UKRAINE Canada, as part of the drone coalition, will begin transferring 450 SkyRanger multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Ukraine this summer, and Lithuania will allocate EUR 3 million for the production of FPV drones. Source: press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Details: At an extraordinary meeting of the drone coalition steering group, Lithuania announced the allocation of EUR 3 million for production of FPV drones, and Canada will begin transferring 450 SkyRanger multi-purpose UAVs in the summer. In addition, the Netherlands has confirmed its intention to contract a batch of Heidrun RQ-35 drones worth EUR 200 million in cooperation with Denmark and Germany. "The situation on the contact line is changing every day, the enemy continues to attack civilian targets, especially energy infrastructure. We require tools for an asymmetric response. The time to discuss solutions is running out, we require it now," Deputy Defence Minister Kateryna Chernohorenko said at a drone coalition group meeting. Germany will also provide Ukraine with Vector 211 reconnaissance drones.
