Understanding the problem you solve and how your solution uniquely addresses it is one of the most important aspects of building a compelling brand strategy. For C.A.R.E. (Corporate Accountability for Racial Equity), the problem they were solving was clear: employees working in diverse companies often saw their corporation’s racial justice actions as symbolic or performative, rather than substantial. C.A.R.E.’s unique approach combines both research and product development. They surveyed over 500 employees to gather insights on corporate practices, and then used those findings to develop actionable tools and strategies for corporations to address their gaps. By clearly defining the problem and how their solution addresses it, the C.A.R.E. team is better positioned to connect with the corporations they’re hoping to partner with and make a significant, meaningful impact on racial equity. A good brand grows, updates, and refines... This week is special because one of my original Brand Message Intensive clients is back for an update. She's back after 2 years raving about how much she loves her Brand Message Toolkit and asking for an update because it's no longer just her and it's no longer just OT that she's offering. After we reviewed her values and mission, it's pretty incredible how those are still the same with even more of an emphasis on acceptance and neurodiversity. The plan for this intensive is to update the voice of her brand to reflect a team. Plus, we're broadening her core brand to reflect multiple disciplines and building out a few talking points specific to each discipline.
