Just a friendly reminder to my fellow lovers of the St. Patty's Day Weekend Holiday!! With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone to prioritize safety during the celebrations. While it's a time for fun and festivities, it's essential to make responsible choices to ensure that everyone enjoys the holiday safely. Here are a few friendly reminders: 1. Plan Ahead: If you're planning to celebrate, make sure you have a plan in place for getting home safely. Arrange for a designated driver, use rideshare services, or public transportation. 2. Stay Hydrated: Whether you're enjoying a pint of green beer or not, staying hydrated is crucial. Alternate alcoholic beverages with water and pace yourself throughout the day or evening. 3. Watch Out for Each Other: Keep an eye out for your friends and colleagues. If someone appears to have had too much to drink, offer assistance in getting them home safely. 4. Avoid Drinking and Driving: It's never worth the risk. If you've been drinking, please don't get behind the wheel. There are plenty of alternatives available to ensure you get home safely. Let's make sure this St. Patrick's Day is remembered for all the right reasons. Have a fantastic time celebrating, but please remember to prioritize safety above all else. Wishing you all a happy and safe St. Patrick's Day!

🎄 ✨ Planning your annual Christmas party? Follow these golden rules to keep things fun—and safe: 1. Set clear expectations by reminding your team of appropriate behaviour at work functions. Providing training and keeping records can help reduce the risk of vicarious liability! 2. Choose the right venue: Make sure it offers responsible alcohol service, is accessible to all guests, and promotes an atmosphere conducive to appropriate behaviour. 3. Don’t forget the food! If alcohol will be served, make sure there’s plenty of food to go around. 4. Send a memo reminding your team of their responsibilities under company policies and encourage them to stay safe—both during the event and afterwards. 5. Assign sober monitors: Have at least one senior staff member (or more if possible) to keep an eye on things and intervene if necessary. 6. Plan for safe transport: Offer taxi or Uber vouchers, or arrange transportation to help everyone get home safely. By following these golden rules, you’ll help ensure an enjoyable and safe end-of-year celebration for your team—while minimising risks for your organisation! ✨🎄

🍀☘️ St. Patrick's Day Alert! 🍀☘️ As Sunday approaches, so does the festive occasion of St. Patrick's Day! Whether you're planning to revel in the greenery of parades, enjoy traditional Irish fare, or simply embrace the spirit of the holiday, it's crucial to remember to celebrate responsibly. While St. Patrick's Day is often associated with merriment and perhaps a pint or two, it's essential to prioritize safety, especially when it comes to drinking and driving. Every year, far too many lives are affected by the tragic consequences of driving under the influence. This St. Patrick's Day, let's make a collective commitment to keep our roads safe for everyone. Here are a few simple tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration: Designate a sober driver: If you're planning to drink, designate a trusted friend or family member as the designated driver before the festivities begin. This ensures that everyone gets home safely. Utilize alternative transportation: If you don't have a designated driver, consider using alternative transportation options such as taxis, rideshare services, or public transit. Many cities offer discounted or free rides on St. Patrick's Day to promote responsible drinking. Arrange for accommodations: If you're celebrating away from home, plan ahead and book accommodations nearby. Staying overnight eliminates the temptation to drive after consuming alcohol. Be a responsible host: If you're hosting a St. Patrick's Day gathering, ensure that your guests have safe transportation options available. Offer non-alcoholic beverages and encourage guests to pace themselves. Intervene if necessary: If you see someone who is about to drive under the influence, intervene and offer them a safe alternative, whether it's a ride home or a place to stay for the night. Remember, the choices we make on St. Patrick's Day can have long-lasting consequences. Let's celebrate this festive occasion responsibly and ensure that everyone gets home safely. Wishing you all a happy and safe St. Patrick's Day!

As we gear up for a day filled with celebrations, fireworks, and fun, let's not forget the importance of staying safe. The 4th of July is one of the most dangerous holidays when it comes to drinking and driving. Let's make sure we all get home safely to enjoy many more celebrations together. Here are a few tips to help you stay prepared and safe this Independence Day: 1. Designate a Sober Driver: Before you start celebrating, decide who will be the designated driver for the night. This simple step can save lives. 2. Plan Your Rides: Use ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft, or have a local taxi service on standby. Many areas also offer free or discounted rides on holidays. 3. Host Responsibly: If you're hosting a party, offer plenty of non-alcoholic drinks and encourage guests to pace themselves. Make sure no one leaves your party without a safe way to get home. 4. Look Out for Each Other: Keep an eye on your friends and family. If you see someone who is too intoxicated to drive, take their keys and help them find a safe way home. 5. Stay Hydrated and Eat Well: Drinking on an empty stomach can lead to faster intoxication. Make sure to eat plenty and drink water throughout the day. Let's make this 4th of July a day to remember for all the right reasons. Celebrate responsibly and keep our roads safe. Enjoy the fireworks and festivities, but most importantly, take care of each other. #IndependenceDay #CelebrateResponsibly #StaySafe #DontDrinkAndDrive

#MattersMostMonday In this short week leading up to my favorite holiday of the year, I am most focused on making an easy, delicious, nourishing, and loving celebration for my family - and my self! My husband and I love hosting, and have had large-ish groups on and off since 2018. AND I know myself well as a hostess. I don't do fancy, or fussy, and I am very comfortable getting help on the elements of the day that I don't do particularly well or that create an outsized amount of work or stress. Between buying some elements of the meal from our favorite local spots, taking family members up on their generous offers to bring dishes, and renting dishes and silverware to avoid a huge pile in the sink, I am proud of my bang-for-buck approach to the holiday. I have come to see very clearly how doing Thanksgiving this way gets me to the 3D outcomes that matter to me: ME - I don't stay up for hours the days and nights before everyone arrives cooking, or stuck in the kitchen when my most beloved humans are around. WE - We can enjoy each others' company, without anyone being resentful / overwhelmed / tired about their contribution. So we can do what is most important to me - have real, thoughtful conversations about the past year, and what's to come. Further, we do this with an inclusive guestlist, including my husband's ex-wife, enabling the kids to be with both their parents, and my step-daughter's new in-laws, avoiding difficult choices or stressful splitting of time. WORLD - We support local and woman-owned companies by buying their delicacies; avoid the waste of paper or plastic plates and flatware; and finally, contribute good vibrations that are so needed right now in a country and world that is suffering. SO - what matters most to you this week? Finishing up a project at work? Facing a hard conversation with a family member? Letting a difference go in the interest of a few hours of joy, or at least peaceful coexistence? Getting the rest and nourishment you need to be a gracious host/ess? Whatever it is, own it and take it for yourself - there's no greater service you can do for the people you love!
