To navigate the #AI landscape responsibly, leaders must develop #ethical leadership skills, exhibiting traits like gratitude, humility, honesty, accountability, caring, courage, and fairness. These characteristics ensure a responsible approach at the intersection of technology and leadership. The trait that resonates most with me is honesty. It's hard to have trust when there isn't honesty. Transparency is a way for leaders to demonstrate their commitment to honesty, especially in the AI space. To build trust, leaders must disclose the data that is being used, discuss how AI systems make decisions, and acknowledge the limitations and biases of these systems. #EthicalLeadership #AIEthics #ResponsibilityInTech #LeadershipSkills

🎙️ Ethics and AI: The Next Great Leadership Challenge. "AI doesn't have feelings, but your employees do" - Marlene Kreidler. As a seasoned business executive turned academic, Marlene brought fresh insights on AI, ethics, and leadership that left me thinking long after we wrapped up. We tackled some tough questions: • How do we prepare for a workforce where AI is as common as email? • What skills will truly matter in an AI-driven world? • How can leaders maintain their humanity while leveraging AI? Marlene shared a compelling perspective on the "AI generation" - those born after 2010 who will enter our workplaces with a completely different relationship to technology. It made me realize how crucial it is for us as leaders to stay ahead of this curve. But what struck me most was Marlene's emphasis on ethics and critical thinking. She argued that in a world where AI can provide instant answers, our real value lies in our ability to ask the right questions and make ethical decisions. As an executive coach, I found myself nodding along as Marlene stressed the importance of vulnerability and transparency in leadership. Her story about sharing student feedback openly with her class was a powerful example of this in action. This episode challenged me to think differently about how we prepare our teams for the future. It's not just about training on AI tools - it's about fostering the human skills that AI can't replicate. 💡 I'd love to hear your thoughts. How are you balancing AI adoption with maintaining the human touch in your organization? 🤝 As an executive coach, I help leaders navigate their personal and professional growth to drive organizational success. Curious about how coaching can accelerate your leadership journey? Ethical Leadership: Leaders who want to explore AI in more depth should exhibit ethical leadership in their interactions with competitors and other market drivers and operators. They should respect their autonomy and they should continuously seek to understand and communicate with other competitors and other policymakers in a respectful and non-coercive manner, even though they may possess the power to outflank their competitors with their AI innovative and competitive edges. Their ethical behavior must reflect their commitment to fairness, justice, and respect for others. "By Sir M Aamir Ali"

*** What do BUSINESS SCHOOLS have to teach now GenAI is around? With GenAI in our professional lives, expectations are that we ALL will be more productive, creative and efficient. If this expectation materializes, will it then matter that we train our business leaders of the future to be authentic, empower them to develop their own unique abilities and passion, and help them to develop their moral compass? In this video, created by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), I discuss why business schools today need to be in the business of self-development and ethical upskilling more than ever. If you like this message, then you'll probably like my new book "The AI-savvy leader: 9 ways to take back control and make AI work" (Harvard Business Review Press), where I discuss what kind of leadership is needed in today's AI era. Philosophy often gets overlooked in the business world, but it’s more relevant than we think. Beyond the boardrooms and balance sheets, philosophy helps us tackle the big questions that impact leadership, strategy, and ethics every day. - Metaphysics challenges us to contemplate the true essence of our organizations. Are we just profit-making machines, or is there something deeper to our purpose? Understanding our core purpose can revolutionize our business approach. - Epistemology prompts us to question the reliability and interpretation of data in an era dominated by information and AI. Are we really seeing the full picture, or just a curated version of it? - Ethics shouldn't just be about compliance—it's about defining what’s right and how we should act, especially in tricky situations. Defining right from wrong, can steer businesses through tough decisions with integrity. Next time you face a significant decision, remember: integrating a touch of philosophy can significantly enhance the fabric of the business world.
