It was another poorly filled pot of crabs. Hardly anything in the net, and what was there was too small to keep. The crew had experienced nothing but "bad luck" one pot after another on this string on their 24+ hour shift. For all the hard manual work of prepping and tossing the pots into the Bering Sea, the crew was missing the rewards of their labor. "It looks like we're practicing being fishermen today!" shouted the deck hand. It was witty, and certainly lightened the dismal mood on the deck, and it was a comment that stuck with me all weekend and lit up in my mind doing research on motivation today. (By the way: don't you just love Deadliest Catch?! 🦀 ) Confidence is all about turning your thoughts into actions and TED-Ed offers three tips to dial into boosting your confidence: 1) Try a quick fix - might I recommend "Impossible" (feat.
