We had the honor of bringing our message ‘Lead from the Middle’ back to Maine, but this time we spoke at a Mental Health Summit. This was an awesome opportunity to be in a room with like-minded individuals who care about people, and who are looking for ways to help people be successful in life. There is no better legacy to leave than one of Love. We are proud to have been a small part of this day! Thank you to Eric Richey and Maria Fuentes for supporting our message and allowing us to open your summit! If you have been thinking about mental health for your industry, substance abuse, recovery efforts and suicide prevention, the time to start the conversation is NOW! If you need inspiration on how to get started, reach out to Eric Ritchie or Maria Fuentes at Maine Better Transportation Association. Or us here, at Bowman Legacies , we’d be glad to help connect you. #Lovepeoplemovemountains #Leadfromthemiddle #mentalhealth Mikel Bowman Anita Bowman

Today is a day to mark an important topic that we all need to be discussing more, suicide. Each year on 10 September, many people and organisations around the world speak more freely on the topic of mental health and suicide, as part of World Suicide Awareness Day. As someone who struggles with their mental health, and who has lost people close to them to suicide, the day is an important one for me. The World Health Organisation wants the theme of the day this year to be around “changing the narrative” with an aim to bring down the stigma attached to the topic, making it easier to talk about, allowing people who may be struggling to ask for help, and get some support, more easily. Why is this so important? According to ONS data, 5,656 people died by suicide in the UK in 2023, an absolutely shocking figure, and something that definitely needs to change. I’m proud that Greencore are spending time raising awareness and supporting all colleagues in such an important area. From sharing and signposting avenues of support, to hosting things locally at a site level, the more we can do and speak about mental health and suicide prevention the better. Everyone deserves the chance to have a voice and get support. If you are struggling and looking for some help, someone to talk to, or if you’re worried about someone else – there are some amazing charities out there. A few of them in the image below. Please don’t be worried about speaking out, it is always ok to ask for help. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #YouMatter #InclusionatGreencore
Today marks an important event in our inclusion calendar: World Suicide Prevention Day. This year's theme 'Changing the Narrative' from the World Health Organisation encourages open conversations to help prevent suicides. Our sites are getting involved, with mental health champions available to talk to colleagues and others sharing the help and support available to our teams. If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed, remember, it's okay to ask for help. Together, we can make a difference. #InclusionatGreencore #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #PeopleattheCore
