Today, I feel particularly proud to be French. On this International Women's day, we collectively reflect that while great progresses have been made towards Gender Equity, there is still a lot to do, and that it will take all of us together to #accelerateprogress. And maybe even more importantly than accelerating progress, ensuring that gains can not be lost is absolutely critical to ensure that any gender equity progress is there for generations to come... (see Roe vs Wade in the US...) Earlier this week, the French Senate voted to enshrine the rights for women to dispose of their body (i.e. abortion rights) in the French constitution - ensuring that this right can never be taken back (see more info here: https://lnkd.in/gttUicBS) I hope it paves the way for many more countries to do so...and support a global movement to accelerate progress! #iwd #investinwomen #womensrightsarehumanrights
Happy International Women’s Day! 💜 Today, we honour the incredible achievements of women and girls everywhere and reaffirm our commitment to #CountHerIn: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress. As we celebrate the progress that has been made, we also recognise that the journey towards equality is far from over. We must continue to advocate for greater economic inclusion and investment for women and girls, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities, resources and representation at all levels of society. Let’s work together to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create a world where every woman and girl has equal opportunity to learn, earn and lead. Together we can #CountHerIn and accelerate progress towards a more equitable and inclusive future for us all. #IWD2024

As we celebrate International Women's Day, it's essential to highlight the powerful effect of incorporating women into industries traditionally dominated by men, particularly in heavy industry sectors. Across my career, I have had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most inspiring women in roles and industries where they have traditionally been told they don't belong. The theme, "Count Her In", deeply resonates, encouraging us to acknowledge and elevate the remarkable contributions of women in these fields, and drives the need for investment to accelerate progress. In heavy industry, diversity isn't just a buzzword; it's a catalyst for innovation and progress. The narrative is evolving, albeit it slowly, and it's inspiring to witness the increasing acknowledgment of women's invaluable roles in sectors traditionally perceived as male-centric. "Counting her in" means dismantling stereotypes, shattering glass ceilings, and fostering an inclusive environment where every woman's expertise is not only welcomed but celebrated. Empowering women in heavy industry isn't just a matter of equality; it's a strategic imperative. Diverse teams bring diverse solutions, enhancing creativity and problem-solving. We know this. By fostering a culture that embraces inclusivity, we not only enrich our workplaces but also fortify the foundations of our industries for a more resilient and dynamic future. Let's celebrate the achievements of women breaking barriers in heavy industry, amplify their voices, and continue championing a workplace where every individual, regardless of gender, is counted in and recognized for their unique talents and contributions. #InternationalWomensDay #CountHerIn #DiversityandInclusion #GenderEquality #InclusiveWorkplaces

On this International Women's Day 2024 a huge shout out from me to all the "Queenslander", Australia, women medical practitioners and others who were directly connected in 2013 to an horrific medical error and severe maltreatment at Queensland Health of a woman with an invisible physical disability; the incompetent, unqualified, and corrupt women who were involved in attempting to cover up the matter from 2013 to 2024 during the Health Complaints Process at the Health Quality and Complaints Commission, Office of the Health Ombudsman, Queensland Ombudsman, Queensland Health, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and others; the women police officers employed by the Queensland Police Service who refused to investigate; successive Ministers for Health including women such as ALP Yvette D'Ath MP and ALP Shannon Fentiman MP who have stood by; the vile recent conduct and abuse of power of women lawyers at the Department of Justice and Attorney-General and the Legal Services Commission; the women employed at the Crime and Corruption Commission; women politicians; women employed by the Queensland Law Society; women employed by Law Firms, and many others; the women employed by the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability who stood by from 2019 -2023. Of course, there were many men also involved - but it's always much more abhorrent when women cover-up such matters, and the violence and abuse of other women - and especially women lawyers who conduct themselves in this manner. No doubt they were looking after their careers. Queensland has an extraordinarily corrupt public service, and perhaps many of the women employed there as simply employed because they are women, and not because they have achieved on their own merit. These are the type of women employed by the Queensland Public Service at the expense of the taxpayer. These women do not stand on the shoulders of women who came before them, but attempt to walk all over everything that women who came before them achieved and stood for, for future generations. They degrade all women. As my grandmother used to say, "You can't make a silk purse, out of a sow's ear". Expand your potential. All too often, women place limits on their own potential. But what if those limits are only in your own minds? You are capable of far more than you think and AWIS-BW🇧🇼 offers inspiration and guidance to help reach your full potential. #launch #AwisBw #awisonline #launch #stem #botswana #womenempowerment #girlchild #employment #collaborations #sustainability #unitednations #sdg5 #sdg17 #sdg13

Over time, cultural, social, political, economic, and even historical factors have significantly shaped the role of #women in society. While #women's roles have varied across different societies and historical periods, their contributions are integral to the fabric of every #communitydevelopment . #iwd2024 #inclusión #genderinclusion #urbanjustice #inclusionanddiversity

As women in the energy sector, breaking barriers is about unity, not rivalry. Let's foster sisterhood and support each other in the industry. There's space for everyone at the table. It's time for egos to step aside and kindness to take the lead. Where is the equality we speak of? I will continue to fight for recognition and demand equality and fairness in every aspect of my business , I really wish others will do the same. The brotherhood wins again. #ksccslwomen #WomenSupportingWomen #EnergyIndustry #UnityInDiversity #femalecontractor #accountantsinbusiness

UN Women: “If current trends continue, more than 342 million women and girls could be living extreme poverty by 2030. To ensure women’s needs and priorities are considered, governments must prioritize gender-responsive financing and increase public spending on essential services and social protection. Policymakers must also value, recognize, and account for the vital contribution women make to economies worldwide through paid and unpaid care work. Women spend around three times more time on unpaid care work than men and if these activities were assigned a monetary value they would account for more than 40 per cent of GDP.” #InvestInWomen And the reminder that the meaningless #inspireinclusion slogan is from a co-opted corporate shill website and a distraction from the meaningful investment with women and girls that must be done. (As per last year’s: https://lnkd.in/gemxUSkA)

One effective way to establish a network of support is through an Employee Resource Group (ERG). Support the women in your organization by establishing a supportive environment for mentoring, open communication, and career advancement. Inclusion is something we must advocate for!
