This Youtube video explains how "Safari of a Lifetime" storybook combines lessons in science and culture. Here, the authors step out of their real lives and find themselves as students seeking to learn more about ecology and ecosystems. Written to embrace fascinating areas of science, the ecology and ecosystems as a backdrop and opens the door to natural science, geography, and culture through the eyes of students. This method of writing is called "expository fiction," a method and theme in all Vision Harmony authors' books.

The concept of "burning the boats" is based on the historical tale of Hernán Cortés, who forced his men to either take the treasure and return home in the Aztec's boats or die. Cortés and his men went on to conquer the Aztec Empire. Burning the boats is used as a metaphor these days by some self development experts/motivational speakers to emphasize that to achieve something you have to give it your best, have a clear focus on your goal, and avoid distractions. They have positive intention around the metaphor, and its usage. "If you want to conquer the island, burn all your boats" The essence of this metaphor gets distorted, and becomes dangerous for people when they burn the options itself and stop doing things that are working for them in the anticipation of something that has uncertainty, no surety, especially if nothing has been done towards that *Something* If you are working towards a dream, make sure the dream is worth chasing, the island is worth conquering before you burn the boats. Staying focused is a good strategy, and that does not mean you have to stop doing things that are serving you in some way, and is essential. For reference ~ Don't quit your high paying job for a dream for which you have done nothing, no plan, no strategy, no resources, no action plan, no skills/competence, etc. Work towards your dream, stay focused, but don't get fooled to burn down the boat (Job / Some other work) that is maintaining your house, family, and is serving a purpose. #metaphors #selfdevelopment #success #dreams #focus #selfawareness #ecology #purpose #goals #wellbeing #safety #plan #planning
