📢 The Power of a Simple "Thank You" ✨️ In the world of charity and fundraising, there’s one lesson I emphasise to my team above all others: 'Never underestimate the importance of thanking our donors.' Donors are more than financial supporters—they're part of our community, united by a shared belief in our mission. When they give to us, they’re offering their trust, their hard-earned pennies, and their hope that we will turn their generosity into meaningful impact. But what happens if we don't acknowledge that? If their gift disappears into a black void of silence? The connection weakens - probably disappears. A genuine, heartfelt 'thank you' changes everything. It's not just good manners—it's transformative. When we thank our donors, we: Reinforce the relationship: They see themselves as part of our community, not just a source of funds. Highlight their impact: They know their support isn’t just noticed but is making a real difference. We need your help. Home-Start Wandsworth will be taking part in the match funded The Childhood Trust's Champions for Children campaign. We’re hoping to raise vital funds to give more children the chance of a brighter future. As part of our application, we need to secure promises of funding, called ‘Pledges’, which will be used to match fund any donations made to us during the campaign week (4 June - 18 June.) One donation, twice the impact! We are aiming to raise £10,000 in pledges to take part in the campaign with the hope that The Childhood Trust will also pledge £10,000 to the match funding pot. If you have the ability, show younger family members how contributing noncash assets, like stocks, can multiply the impact your generosity is having. When it is time to recommend grants, The Signatry’s online platform has a nonprofit search tool that allows you to view vetted charities working in similar fields. NEW: All levels of government announced new funding for the charitable sector during the pandemic. But how much did organizations net in total? And is the boost in funding here to stay? New data released by CRA last week show that between 2019 and 2021, total transfers from Canadian governments to the charitable sector increased by $30 billion — from $199 billion in 2019 to $228 billion in 2021.
