Trust Payments powers Freepay PayOut for use across Nordics Trust Payments, a fintech leader driving truly innovative customer commerce solutions, has agreed a new deal to power payouts provided by Danish payments gateway firm Freepay, part of the Freeway group. Since March 2021, the Freeway group, which is behind major Danish web successes such as Dating.dk, Plusbog.dk and Lejebolig.dk, has made it easier to run internet businesses in Denmark by offering Freepay as a free payments gateway. With the new agreement with Trust Payments, Freepay will be enable its customers to process fast and secure payouts with Visa and Mastercard via the TRU Connect Gateway. Insightful day at #FinTechConnect today learning about the latest innovations, meeting likeminded individuals and reconnecting with existing connections. I even managed to squeeze in 2 fantastic sessions at the #implementation hub. 🧠The first was Abraham Georgakarakos from Virgin Media O2 talking about how they are advancing e-commerce payments for telcos with a UK industry first integration with Apple Pay and Google Pay for recurring payments. He also talked about simplifying traditional direct debit setup process with #OpenBanking to automate account detail entry which makes the online experience faster, better and more accurate. It’s great to see how embracing innovation in payments can improve customer satisfaction, conversion rates and ultimately drive account-to-account volumes. 🔐The Verification of Payee (VoP) mandate in Europe is coming up fast in Oct 2025 which is critical to increase confidence, accuracy and grow both instant and bulk payments. Cian OMurchu (Swift) and Magnus Hedenberg (Movitz) had a great discussion about the opportunities for banks to add Value Added Services to enhance customer experience and be the bank of choice. Also to discuss with corporates directly and integrate with ERPs to reduce manual processing and the risk of payments getting stuck due to mismatched information. The deadline is approaching fast and ensuring readiness across the ecosystem, especially given regional variations and legacy data, is critical for the benefits to be realised.
