Accessing working capital is an essential step in scaling your business - but not all lenders are equitable in their lending discretion. As seen in the graphic, Latina business owners suffer from significantly lower loan approval rates than their white counterparts. That's why ESO's Capital in the Community Fund exists - to provide affordable, non-dilutive capital to Black and Brown entrepreneurs and ensure they have the resources and support to actually grow their companies. I am thrilled to announce that Waveline Growth Partners is 7 years old today, 3rd October 2024! From tentative beginnings as we opened our doors, and our first loan of N100,000 to Ebun the fish seller, we have disbursed hundreds of millions of naira worth of loans and advanced the cause of financial inclusion through our suite of loan products. In a deliberate focus, women have made up two thirds of our borrowers over the years. We are proud of our growing dossier of impact stories and loyal clientele, some of whom have successfully completed 20 loans cycles. To our customers, staff past and present, investors and board, we say a big THANK YOU. Join us in raising a glass to Waveline@7! We look forward to the next chapter. #microfinance #financialinclusion

In a world where small business owners are often overlooked, NEAT Microcredit stands as a life. For us, it's not just a business; it's a calling to serve humanity. We dive into areas that many wouldn't dare to venture, driven by a genuine desire to empower those society often considers risky or disadvantaged. Take Maria, for instance. A passionate cook with dreams of expanding her empanada business, she struggled to secure a loan. Traditional banks turned her away, labeling her too high-risk. But NEAT Microcredit saw potential where others saw barriers. We offered her not just financial support, but mentorship and encouragement. Maria flourished. Her business grew, and she became a pillar of her community, inspiring others who had also been sidelined. This is our mission at NEAT Microcredit: to uplift small business owners who lack access to traditional financing. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, and our commitment goes beyond transactions—it’s about transforming lives. With every entrepreneur we support, we reaffirm our dedication to serve. Because for us, empowering individuals to thrive is more than a goal; it’s our calling. You grow, we grow 💪

Ever wondered the impact you can have when you start aligning your investments with your values? We've talked about what CDFI loan funds are before, but let's dig into how they can make a real impact for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and communities. Shoutout to CNote for sharing this incredible story. Meet Terri-Nichelle Bradley, a powerhouse with a mission to empower BIPOC youth in STEAM fields. She launched Brown Toy Box and scored a game-changing deal with Target for nationwide distribution. However, she didn't have the funds to meet Target's big demands—nearly 40,000 kits. She turned to ACE, a CDFI, for help. With their support, Terri-Nichelle got the financing she needed to seal the deal. ACE's founder, Grace Covington Fricks, didn't stop there. She rallied other Atlanta partners to chip in, making sure Brown Toy Box's inventory rollout happened across the country. Terri-Nichelle summed it up perfectly: "The reason that we are where we are right now is because we were able to get the capital." It's all about the strength of women in the investment and finance sectors, stepping up and making a difference for small businesses. Just like Terri-Nichelle's journey, your investments through CNote in CDFIs like ACE can really move the needle, generating returns while lifting up businesses and communities nationwide. Join us for an event tomorrow with Julia (Schneider) Phipps, Director of Due Diligence from CNote. We’ll dive into the amazing history of CDFI Loan Funds and see how aligning your investments with your values can spark positive change.
