"Act like you've been here." Those words ring true today, just as they rang true when they were spoken in the past by many of our coaches in competitive sports, when we returned to a playoff or championship game. While we can be confident that our industry is headed in the right direction given a return to office by the Trump Administration, at no point should we disgrace, discredit, or embarrass ourselves by acting as if we have no empathy, compassion, or respect for others who oppose our views. We should all hold ourselves to a higher standard of humility and grace, one set forth by our Heavenly Father (Eph 4:2, James 4:10, Rom 12:16). With a focus on what we have to do for the next four years, hopefully with another revitalization of our energy endeavors, "let us fix our eyes on Jesus, author and perfector of our faith." - Heb 12:2. Lift up our fellow colleagues both internal and external to our industry, political views aside, victorious or in defeat, and act like we've been here. Let's get to work.
