Love this insight from Roberto Ferraro - "A great relationship is when each one of the two people thinks that they are getting the most out of the relationship." 💯 The first thing that came to my mind was how to apply this to business partnerships or between co-managers. If you don't respect what the other person is bringing to the partnership, then any attempt of a fruitful collaboration between the two of you goes out the window. Before entering into a partnership or working relationship with someone, ask yourself: "Does this person have a skill set that I don't have? Do I believe that they can deliver value from this skill set in a way that I cannot? Am I ready and willing to get out of their way so they can realize the true extent of their strengths?" If the answer is "no" to any of the above questions - you're not ready to bring on a partner or a collaborator. The European Commission recently unveiled its strategy for EU industrial leadership in #advanced #materials, crucial for the #green and #digital transitions. Key highlights: 1. Strengthening the European research & innovation ecosystem. 2. Fast-tracking innovative materials to market with a European digital infrastructure. 3. Increasing capital investment and access to financing, aiming for €500 million by 2027. 4. Fostering the production and use of advanced materials. This includes procurement for innovation, standard setting and the launch of an Advanced Materials Academy with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology to make sure European workforce has the necessary skills. 5. Establishing a Technology Council for ongoing guidance and collaboration. Personally, I am so happy to see this gain priority. I have been trying to raise awareness of this issue for years, and the time has finally come! Thank you for all involved in making this happen! What role do companies play in climate protection? What makes a good leader? How does energy-efficient production look in action? Students from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) recently explored these questions during their visit to our headquarters in Weinheim, Germany. Sarah O'Hare, Head of Corporate HR & Regional Representative North America, shared insights into Freudenberg's global impact and commitment to sustainability. Dr. Michael Horchler, Director Freudenberg Archive, highlighted the company’s rich 175-year history and innovative recycling efforts – showcasing our journey from a small tannery to a global technology company. Leadership was a key topic, with Dr. Makoto Makabe, Director Corporate Learning & Development, leading a panel discussion on what makes a good manager. At the end, the students were given insights into the energy-efficient production of our Business Group Freudenberg Performance Materials. Joseluis Gonzalez, an IUPUI student, summed it up by saying: "The visit was a complete success.
