So I'm at HMS Wellington at an event organised by London Bio. This is a big networking event, a part of London Life Science this week. And I have the pleasure of meeting Luba Greenwood, who is one of the founding members of the Biotech CEO Sisterhood and as well as the overall course being a CEO of Gallup Pharmaceuticals. I think I'm, yes, I've got a gap Oncology, oncology, sorry. Yeah. So this is exactly the sort of networking and support event that I think is. Similar to the aims of the biotech CEO sisterhood. So for a good opportunity to talk about that and tell us how you came to be a member and perhaps all. It's the founding aims. Yeah. So biotech sisterhood, it's one of the some of the sisters have set it up really. And the aim is for our CEOs who have the ability to get together and really share some of the best practices and worst practices also. And as you know, being a CEO is a lonely job. It's it's, you know and. A lot of people have mentors and have had mentors, of course, but it's very different getting mentorship through another CEO, especially also woman that is currently in the CEO management position. So a lot of us have gone through the same stages of development, same stages of research. So it's not just wonderful support group, but it's also very, I would say efficient and good for patients ultimately, because if we have even a question about, hey, what vendor you use, what kind of the opinion leaders, some medical. And somebody that's a physician that you're using that is a knowledgeable in a particular area, we share a lot of the network and the context. So yeah, I know how that and I'm sure this too personal questions and absolutely all of the basic questions of. And I think you organized similar events like this and tell us have an example of one of your recent events. Yeah. So actually we're also having an event tomorrow as well here in Jeffrey. So there are a number of CEO system with women that are getting together and we try to get together. We recently went on a hike. For example, in Boston, we also had a similar hike out in San Francisco. We want to make sure that we're also global sisters. That's why we're here in London. We're not just in, in the major hubs and only in Boston and only in San Francisco, San Diego, we, we really reach our, our global reach and, you know, try to support each other everywhere we go.

Unfortunately in some states, too many well-meaning policymakers are missing the facts. This is a vital federal program that Congress needs to fix. Large hospitals are buying deeply discounted 340B medicines and then turning around and charging both uninsured patients and insurance companies higher prices, pocketing the difference with little to no evidence they use that money to help patients the program is meant to aid. How many people are aware that many 340B hospitals are contracting with pharmacies owned by pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to dispense 340B medicines? How many know that these chain pharmacies can share in 340B revenues with no strings attached? This includes charging an uninsured individual the full cost of the medicine. Just another way a broken system is helping PBMs to profit off the backs of patients. It’s no wonder Congress, the FTC and others have them under the microscope.

No matter where you stand on #340B, you're probably at least a little uncomfortable with the idea of that program padding the coffers of #PBMs. Yet that appears to be exactly what's happening, per a new Avalere/Community Oncology Alliance analysis. https://lnkd.in/g5sRzWiD
