In their recent publication in nature communications, Carbonell-Sala et al., presented CapTrap-seq, a high-fidelity cDNA library generation method that uses oligo(dT) priming and cap-trapping based on biotin-streptavidin affinity to detect full-length RNA transcripts. CapTrap-seq is compatible with both commonly used long-read sequencing platform and its performance was compared to Lexogen’s TeloPrime and other long-read library preparation protocols. I wonder if parts of wobble base pairing do similarly when tRNA matches with mRNA. you could effectively have a jumping quantum state(s) as long as translation were continuing, either serving as a (part of a) discreet boss of the cell, subjugated to being bossed, though I find it unlikely any more quantum state truly is subject to any more classical state in the long run.

As with many ✨ dazzling ✨ things, RNA is highly fascinating, incredibly informative and quite sensitive. 👑 TRI reagents have been specifically designed and developed to meet the needs of RNA and for many scientists the positive properties outweigh the negatives. For a long time, it was considered the gold standard for working with RNA - especially extraction - and continues to be highly popular. 🏅 However, some samples are a little more complicated than others and even the TRI reagent needs a trick or two to ensure success. Very joyful to share to share our most recent article published on ChemPhotoChem Wiley about the viability of a systematic use of Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts (MBHAs) for the synthesis of light-responsive RNA building blocks. In particular, a specific acetylated MBHA derivative was employed in the functionalization of the four natural RNA bases as well as two unnatural bases. It is shown that when a single light-responsive unit is present, the generated unnatural uracil behaves like a cinnamic-framework-based photochemical switch that isomerizes upon illumination through a biomimetic light-induced intramolecular charge transfer mechanism driving a barrierless and, therefore, ultrafast reaction path.
