There are 3 big myths that it’s long past time to bust around #stillbirth. **Myth #1 - Stillbirth went away in the Victorian era.** Truth: Stillbirth claims more children's lives (age 0-14) each year than prematurity, SIDS, car accidents, drowning, guns, fire, flu, poison, and listeria COMBINED. **Myth #2 - Stillbirth is rare.** Truth: It is not. There are over 20,000 stillbirths on average each year in the US, or approximately 65 deaths per day. That’s the equivalent of 3 kindergarten classes, every single day. **Myth #3 - Stillbirth isn’t preventable.** Truth: In many cases, it is. At least 25% of US stillbirths are preventable, using today's technology and practices. If we matched our best international peers, we could be preventing up to 75% (!!) of US stillbirths. Enough is enough. It's time to #endpreventablestillbirth. Every Life Matters: Bringing Awareness to Stillbirth Stillbirth affects about 1 in 175 births, touching the lives of thousands of families every year. Each year, around 21,000 babies are stillborn in the United States—comparable to the number of infants who die during their first year of life. This staggering statistic highlights the urgent need for awareness, research, and support for affected families. While these numbers can feel overwhelming, they represent more than just data—they reflect heartbreak, silence, and unanswered questions for too many. By increasing awareness, supporting research, and providing resources, we can bring hope and healing to families who have experienced such a profound loss. Let’s break the silence and make a difference together. Share this message, support stillbirth awareness organizations, and advocate for policies that prioritize maternal and infant health. Every voice matters. Every life matters. Join us in honoring the babies who are gone too soon and supporting the families who carry their memory forward. #stillbirthawareness #babyloss #pregnancyloss #infantloss #pregnancylosssupport
